Media: The Blood Brothers post two new tracks

The Blood Brothers have posted two new tracks from their forthcoming release Young Machetes. You can hear "Set Fire to the Face on Fire" and "Lazer Life" on their MySpace.

The band is set to release Young Machetes October 10th and will embark on a tour with And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead shortly after.

yes, in anyway. recorded, very good. live, fucking out there and amazing. and high, they seemed pretty damn high on something, the times i saw them.

That's funny. And I agree: it's cool to hear a slow, well-structured Blood Brothers song. It really fits in well with the band's evolution.

I wasn't that impressed with Crimes, but I really liked Burn, Piano Island, Burn. This is looking to be pretty cool...what I really enjoyed in Burn, Piano Island, Burn was when they just chilled out and the music got really calm and mellow...they don't do that as much anymore which sucks.

they were on V2 for crimes and burn too, dude. March on electric Childen was on Three-One G, This Adultery Is Ripe is on Second-Nature, and They put out some real early singles and a compilation of them on Luckyhorse Industries. Ka-BAM!

I like this record alot, it's crimes rewritten with 10 times the energy.
Perfect followup, because who really expected themtogo back to this adultery is ripe styled stuff?

Just listened to the new album straight through for the first time, and I have no idea whether I like it or not. It's obviously a natural progression from Crimes, I'm just not sure if I like the direction Crimes took them in. Crimes was great and all, but I think they're steadily heading away from what got me into them in the first place.

It's more experimental in some ways, and more structured in a million more. It's certainly poppier than they've ever been, and it's certainly subversive, and it's certainly interesting. I'm just not sure if it's got that unidentifiable substance that I like the Blood Brothers for.

Eh. Crimes didn't hit me instantly either.

Dude, the Blood Brothers have always been agressively pro-illegal downloading. Every interview I've ever read of theirs has something about how they all download music all the time, and wholeheartedly endorse people downloading their music, and think all music should be free.
