Suggesting that major corporations didn't learn from the Air MacKaye incident between Nike and Minor Threat, popular clothing brand Old Navy has apparently appropriated a flyer design by Baltimore, Maryland's Oxes.

While not a mainstream band, the group is well known enough to have opened for Cheap Trick and the Breeders and the appropriation did not go unnoticed.

While the band has taken a light-hearted look at the issue on their website, a recent article in the New York Post took a sterner approach with the band's lawyer, Carmen Giordano, saying:

This is indefensible. Old Navy has exploited their hard-edged image. The connection is completely contrary to their fiercely anti-establishment philosophy . . . and sullies their image.

Giordano has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Old Navy which is owned by GAP.
