Red Scare Records has announced "Red Scare Fest", taking place at the Metro in Chicago on October 19. The lineup will be:

The Falcon
Teenage Bottlerocket
The Methadones
Bullets To Broadway
The Copyrights

The label's website promises more information to come on ticket presales.

Update: Enemy You and Chris McCaughan will not be performing but will be making brief appearances.

I realized I don't have any major shows for the rest of the year. I just have ska shows of bands I've already seen and that I'm only going to because they are local. Of course, I'm also missing Pennywise/Ignite/Circle Jerks, the Fat showcase, Cracktoberfest (because it's not coming to NY), and Rise Against. Oh, and that Bad Religion show at Irving Plaza that never existed and was only put on their website to make me angry.

I've seen 4 of the 6 bands on the Fat Showcase at least once (the other two are Dead To Me and Smoke or Fire). I've never seen any of these bands, except the Methadones. Want to trade?

alright, take a look at it. The two best pop punk band of the 2000s in Teenage Bottlerocket and the Copyrights. 3/4 of one of the best from the 90s in Bullets to Broadway. The fucking METHADONES. And some no name band that no one cares about named The Falcon.

I was probably going to be there anyway. Always the pit stop for Metro shows as well as shows at the Bottom Lounge. If you get there early enough, you can watch Jeopardy with the pseudo homeless people that drink there in the afternoon. must be nice to have safe public transportation that actually can get you around the city. we have the people mover thing but you could walk anywhere that thing goes in a few minutes and there aren't really busses in detroit. there are bus stops but i never seem to actually see buses at them

The thing is though that the Red Scare bands are the type of bands that Chicago loves. If Toby were to ever move Red Scare to Chicago I think it'd be a match made in heaven.
