Exclusive Videos: RVA: Unplugged

As previously mentioned, members of Strike Anywhere and Inquisition recently put on an all-acoustic show to benefit the Virginia Fair Wage Aliance.

I was lucky enough to catch the peformances and am glad to share a little of it with you. Thanks to Julie Ferguson for the great picture. As always, you can see the video at Google Video, or

That would be great, I didn't even realize it was made anymore until I accidentally cracked my copy and went looking to buy another one online! It seemed that during the last few AB tours that came to Florida Rob was really sick of playing those songs, every time my friends and I would shout out for an old set staple (i.e. 'efforts wasted', 'fm', whatever) I kind of remember him rolling his eyes and looking like 'yeah I'm tired of playing those damn songs)!

i think that shit was perfect. a lot of strike anywhere's songs are tailor made for acoustic performance because they're so strongly influenced by folk and protest music from the 60's.

I think staying away from acoustice is a good rule of thumb for any punk band.

There is an acoustic version of Chalkline on a comp that I can;t remember but it was awesome. punk goes acoustic maybe? something like that.

Coolest part of the Inquisition set?

Russ (drummer) standing next to me "air-drumming" his parts, and at several times Thomas point to him for what was a main percussion part of a song they were doign acoustically.

Thomas and Robbie both stated they are working on doing a FULL reunion show with all members...

foundation was okay. they didn't play anything i'd ever heard but the lead guitarist was smooth.

mac was better when he handed out those free shots of jameson

strike anywhere wasn't bad, although once in a while i wish they'd play "notes on pulling the sky down".

everything paled in comparison to robbie and thomas, despite the fact that they seemed to fuck up as much as the crowd. they claimed they had never played hotel x live before. until right then when they played it.

for some reason i didn't mind.
