Panic at the Disco! recently discussed the departure of former bassist and longtime friend Brent Wilson with NME. Although specifics have yet to be provided, the band did elaborate a little more and what led to the decision:

It was tough, because we all went to high school together. It just got to a point where it didn't seem like he was taking it seriously and was along for the ride. And he started to get into things we weren't happy about.

Since the split Brent has filed a lawsuit against his former band. No word on the status of that.
