Eagles of Death Metal quit Guns N' Roses tour

After just one show, tounge-in-cheek sex-rock act the Eagles of Death Metal have dropped their supporting role on the current Guns N' Roses tour. The EODM followed former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach and played to a rather unresponsive crowd, hungry for hair metal. After making fans wait for two hours, GN'R finally took the stage, where Axl Rose spoke blatently: "So, how'd you like the Pigeons of Shit Metal? Don't worry, that's the last show they're playing with us." EODM issued the following statement regarding the situation:

At first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time we took our final bow, it had become paradise city.Although Axl tried to November rain on our parade, no sweet child o' mine can derail the EODM night train. We say live and let die.

Rose's management called the band's frontman, Jesse Hughes, to apologize and tell him that Axl was "really sorry" and that he wanted them to finish the tour. To which Hughes responded: "You can tell that motherfucker to go and fuck himself because I will never go through that again." You can read the full story here.

Buckethead has always had more technical skills than Slash. Slash is just a better songwriter. Some groups and musicians (DEP i'm looking at you) are masters of their instruments, but can't write a listenable song to save their lives

eagles of death metal are a really really fun band. completely down to earth. they like to make sure you have a great time at their shows. it isn't punk rock, but it's good rock music.

The Eagles are supposedly a "rock" band, but lots of people consider them a "country" band, hence The Eagles Of Death Metal aren't going to necessarily sound like death metal. "Wow, we are all now dumber for having to listen to that."

the very same. i believe he was one of the first guys axl approached to be in the new band. i think it was originally tommy stinson, josh freese on drums (man...), buckethead, robin finck from nine inch nails, dizzy reed, and a couple other people.

now, who knows. but yeah. GNR without Slash is not GNR.

Also if you still have doubt go listen to that shit project he did with Weiland whose name escpaes me. I'm not going to lie, I grew up on Guns N' Rose. i find it really sad that what could've been known as one of the greates rock bands of the past 20 years has become a joke and is being grouped in with the Poisons and the Warrants simply because Axl Rose can't get his act together and prove himself as a serious musician!

it's not that axl needs to prove himself as a serious musician, it's that he has delusions of grandeur about actually BEING a serious musician. granted you can't go on writing songs like Night Train when you're well into your 40's, but damn. it's guns n fucking roses, not queen. no matter how hard axl fucking tries.

Appetite destroyed, nobody will argue with that. but by the time the Use Your Illusions came out and Axl started doing shit with like, a full orchestra, something was rotten on sunset.

100% agreed. I guess when I think of GNR, I only consider appetite, I liked a few songs on UYI but for the most part, it was his attempt at creating a GNR version of "The Wall". Once Izzy split, the band went to complete crap. I don't know who ended up worse Axl or the rest of them. I can't stand velvet revolver!

GnR is totally different than Poison and Warrant. The people saying they are the same weren't alive back then or old enough to experience it and are just grouping all 80's rock bands.

None of you kiddies were there when GnR played shows with SoundGarden opening. GnR shows used to be so rowdy that steel fences were erected in front of the stage.

Don't compare hair metal to GnR.

I have noticed that people now have a weird way of viewing the 80's. Even movies where the 80's are portrayed show nothing but what people sterotypically think about the 1980's. Kind of werid to watch when you went through it so recently and it was nothing like what it is potrayed on tv and in movies.

i like the fact the fact that they had the balls to stay off the tour and not climb back in into axl's anus for the rest of the dates.

gnr were good back in the 80s, and okay in the early 90s. however, what stopped them from being great, was the piss-poor horrible vocals of one axl rose, who, sickeningly, is the one left to carry on their "legacy."

velvet revolver may not be amazing, but i'll take them over gnr any day.
