Thick Records signs The Brokedowns

Thick has announced the signing of Elgin, Illinois-based The Brokedowns. The band promises a sound that is "genuine, aggro, and gritty, with no frills, and a solid sense of humor to boot" and the label alludes to Dillinger Four, Crimpshrine, Leatherface and cheap beer.

The band will make their debut for Thick on May 8th, 2007. You can check out some of their music on their myspace page.

i think the dillinger four thing is mainly cause they got 3 singers.
they're not nearly as poppy.

Most bands that say they sound like Dillinger Four don't and sound like crap... nothing can touch D4

okay I found their purevolume and they do indeed. Sort of. And they have the version of Erik pop-punk voiced guy and Paddy the gruff guy... They even have a fat guy... will I be able to see his shlong, though?

They also use sound clips a lot I see.

Hahah, I know. The one time I saw them open a Queers show a few years ago two of the guys in the band were even wearing D4 shirts. It's almost at tribute band level.

Thick may be the most underrated label out there. The Brokedowns, Seven Story Mountain, Four Star Alarm, & Model Actress are all great bands.

The Methadones, The Bomb, The Tossers, The Arrivals, Hanalei, Blue Meanies... goes on and on. solid label.

The Methadones put out a covers CD on Red Scare. Career Objective and Not Economically Viable are on THICK. Their first CD is on A-F. I hear their drummer quit anyway.

eric grossman is a golden god.

these guys are one of the most hardworking bands out there, and yes, they do rock on the same level as D4

fuck yeah they rock, The Bdizzles are a great band....yes they are super fat too. fucken slobs. I have always thought they sounded way more like Pegboy. You should all track down their first two full lengths.

As much as I was the best man at one of their now defunct marriages, I can say they are killer with no biased opinion.
