The Arcade Fire have announced the release of their second album this spring. Titled Neon Bible, the
album will serve as the follow-up to their breakthrough debut, 2004's Funeral, and is slotted for a March
6 release date on Merge Records
The album's title references the 1990 book by Pulizer Prize-winning author John Kennedy Toole, which chronicles the story of a young boy growing up in a small Southern town in the 1940s, where the highly religious townspeople look down upon him because of his family's inability to pay church dues. Additionally, the band has released a few media sources in anticipation of the album. You can check out the Neon Bible website, or the phone number (which Punknews.org has yet to call - so do so at your own risk/expense) 1-866 NEON BIBLE. Neon Bible 1. Black Mirror 2. Basically, you call the number, a voice recording tells you to dial 7777, then the you listen to one of their new songs in very poor quality. 2+ Replies

Who the fuck cares? This band is like Conor Oberst with even more instruments. I wish they would break up or die in a bus fire or something. 3+ Replies

A chick and some dude were walking up to people waiting in line for the Jeremy Enigk show I was at a few weeks ago with a digital camera; passing out fliers for the Neon Bible and saying there were supposed to "get 20 pictures for some new band". Was really strange.
