Insubordination launches new imprint, signs The Retarded

Insubordination Records has launched a new imprint label to focus on "high energy punk rock." The main label is well known for power-pop and pop-punk including the Copyrights, Big in Japan and others.

To help kick off the new imprint, the label has enlisted Italy's The Retarded. The band will be releasing their latest album, Goes Louder on March 6th, 2007. The label promises "rock & roll, done with reverence to the sound heralded by Motorhead, Kiss, AC/DC and the Ramones."

FYI: the Ramones always stated that early Kiss was a huge inspiration to them, not visually but rather the no-holds-barred approach they had early on. Kiss was a cornerstone band in NYC's underground scene at the same time the Ramones were getting their shit together.

i guess i knew that. i mean, i've read the books and seen the movies, and i've heard them reference kiss. but the first thing that comes to mind when i hear kiss... well, it sucks. anyway, thanks for not calling me a fagg0tz

We are very last.fm compatible but I completely disagree. AC/DC are great fun. One of the best and "purest" rock and roll bands to ever exist.

Yeah exactly. If someone who had never heard modern music before were to ask me what rock and roll was, I'd probably play them some AC/DC.

I've never heard the band before but am I the only one that thinks it's weird they make an imprint to "focus on high energy punk rock" and then promise the first release as straight up rock 'n roll?
