Ending weeks of speculation, Bad Religion has set a July 10th, 2007 release date for their upcoming full length. As reported earlier, the band will begin recording the follow up to 2004's The Empire Strikes First
next month at Grand Master Studios in Los Angeles, California. The
yet to be named disc will be produced by Grammy-nominated producer Joe Barresi (Tool, Queens of the Stone Age,
Weezer).
In advance of the studio work, the remaining members of Bad Religion have kept remarkably active lately. As Epitaph's owner and founder, Gurewitz remains as insanely busy as ever. Drummer Brooks Wackerman is currently on tour in Australia with Tenacious D, while founding bassist Jay Bentley and guitarists Greg Hetson and Brian Baker will participate in the 9th Annual Punk Rock Bowling Tournament in Las Vegas this weekend. Maybe the first legitimately "punk" (as in second-wave) release from Epitaph since Empire Strikes First. 4+ Replies

YES!!! Can't wait for that. I can't wait to see what they do next. To me Empire is definitely one that might be my second favorite BR album (after Suffer).

I fucking hate this band beyond fucking belief. Yeah, I said it, I can't stand Bad Religion. I don't listen to Fall Out Boy, I don't listen to My Chemical Romance, I don't listen to fucking Coheed and Cambria... and especially not Bad Religion. 8+ Replies

Regardless of how popular this band has become....it still is and most likely will always be one of my favorites. As long as Greg keeps writing intellectual lyrics and refrains from too many "love songs" they will continue to make wonderful albums. Bad Religion's best songs are either political/intelligent in nature......their poppier songs are good, but they are not what make Bad Religion special to me. For example....Empire's best songs= Atheist Peace, Sinister Rouge, Social Suicide, God's Love, Surface Of Me, and Let Them Eat War. Process= Prove It, Destined For Nothing, Materialist, Kyoto Now. MY LEAST favorite Bad Religion song is, fittingly, "Infected"...not because it's the most popular......but because I just don't really like it. 4+ Replies

Awesome. I just hope that they don't keep pushing the release date back, like with the DVD.
