Reel Big Fish to tour with Less Than Jake

Reel Big Fish have announced a tour, but have only revealed that their tourmates rhyme with "Shmess than Shmake." Some astute readers have noted that this probably - but not definitely - refers to Less Than Jake. Other contenders include, Stress Span Snake, or perhaps Mess Man Make.

Dates for the upcoming tour are expected shortly.

I admit, I do sometimes feel like the Old Creepy Guy at the Show when I see LTJ. Neverthless it never fails that any LTJ show I go to is packed and energetic as all hell. The same kids that are making fun of them are the same ones that will begging me for beers the next time they roll through.

I didn't hear too much ska on "Cheer Up"of "We're not Happy...". They still use horns but there's not much of a ska vibe to it.

I like the fact that ska is to the point where all the major bands tour with each other as the only way to draw a sell out crowd. Way better shows.

well ska is making a comeback

theres a growing scene where im from (long island), and it seems like for all the younger kids, ska is becoming like a new emo, which isnt that cool, but its getting pretty big, Streetlight, and RBf are ridiculously popluar around here, and all over the malls ska clothes are sold

At least LTJ (if that is the confirmed band) is bringing along some decent bands as of late that'll make most of their older fans forget the gutter trash of an album, "In With The Out Crowd".

you know dude, now that you mention it, my sister went to see LTJ recently (since the new cd came out) and yeah, she said the same thing... they apologized profusely for the album.... but hey, i dont think it matters because LTJ shows AND Reel Big Fish shows are fun as hell.... im gonna try to check this out if i can get some cash

I saw LTJ 3 times on the last tour and not once did they apologize for the last album. I maybe growing sentimental in my old age but I really liked the last album. But of course it is not Hello Rockview or Losing Streak.

Exactly. I've seen LTJ more than 10 times, and although they are not even in my top 10 of favorite bands, they are consistantly one of the best live acts out there. I have yet to see them on an off night. One of the shows, Roger even played a full set with the opening band (I can't rememer who it was).

I could never get into RBF outside of maybe two songs. Though if LTJ doesn't do a lot of Out Crowd stuff then this is still worth going to depending on ticket prices, they're a hell of a lot of fun to see.

I know a lot of people will give this tour a lot of shit, but I preferred the late 90's when ska was everywhere as opposed to now where Hawthorne Heights clones are everywhere. Yeah, ska was pretty fucking annoying sometimes, but I consider it preferable to the latter. Punk seems to go in cycles, so I'm just holding my breath for a new cycle to kick in.....but by then I'll probably be close to 30 and be that creepy "old" guy in the crowd. Life sucks sometimes.

Why is everyone a retarded douche on this site? A lot of people like ska, and those people aren't idiots, or children, or tools, or anything like that. They also probably like a lot of the same bands you fuckheads like. Jesus Christ why the fuck would you post on an article about two bands you don't like? Kill yourselves. Both bands put on an amazing show, sell out venues consistently, and STILL MAKE GOOD MUSIC. Just because they don't play straight up punk and/or ska anymore doesn't mean that they don't make good music. People think that if LTJ and RBF don't come out with a rehash of Losing Streak and Turn the Radio Off respectively that they've sold out and gone soft and turned into mainstream shit. People are DEAD WRONG.

THEY ARE BOTH GOOD BANDS. THIS TOUR IS WHAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR YEARS. JUST BECAUSE A BAND HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AND AWESOME ENOUGH
