Reel Big Fish have announced a tour, but have only revealed that their tourmates rhyme with "Shmess than Shmake." Some astute readers have noted that this probably - but not definitely - refers to Less Than Jake. Other contenders include, Stress Span Snake, or perhaps Mess Man Make.
Dates for the upcoming tour are expected shortly. Ska and Reggae (117 comments)

Eh. Maybe there will be good support now, instead of FBR labelmates 4+ Replies

I guess it's the 10 year anniversary of either band being relevant. 5+ Replies

It's about time. And unlike the MxPx tour, there probably won't be too many people leaving before the last band every other night.

"Ska Is Dead" should lend their name to this tour, being that ithe tour is comprised of two acts who have abandoned the genre. 2+ Replies

I like the fact that ska is to the point where all the major bands tour with each other as the only way to draw a sell out crowd. Way better shows. 3+ Replies

At least LTJ (if that is the confirmed band) is bringing along some decent bands as of late that'll make most of their older fans forget the gutter trash of an album, "In With The Out Crowd". 4+ Replies

2 new No One's Hero demos leaked:

Well that is fantastic news, because I was sure LTJ's "entire album a night" dealie was a sort of final farewell. 2+ Replies

Saw both bands twice last year and while not life changing, ska shows are always a fucking good time. 2+ Replies

make all the "washed up" jokes ya want.. but RBF played CT a couple months ago in hartford and the place was sold out, and turning people away.. it was pretty nuts 1+ Reply

I hope this tour comes near me. I hope LTJ (if it's really them) doesn't play "In WIth The Out Crowd"....really disappointing.
Linx (January 22, 2007)
lets just wait till we have bands like fallout boy and hawthorn heights doing this and burn the concert halls to the ground.

No dates? Nice. Now I can go ahead and get my hopes up until I find out that they're not coming to Britain.
jacknife737 (January 22, 2007)

They may be musically irrelevant but they each put on one HELL of a show and together will make a Voltronlike show of badassness. 1+ Reply

I could never get into RBF outside of maybe two songs. Though if LTJ doesn't do a lot of Out Crowd stuff then this is still worth going to depending on ticket prices, they're a hell of a lot of fun to see.
FatTony (January 22, 2007)
This will be the most fun tour of the year. Hopefully RBF gets to choose the support since they've had amazing opening bands on their last couple tours.
ChokingVictim (January 22, 2007)

I know a lot of people will give this tour a lot of shit, but I preferred the late 90's when ska was everywhere as opposed to now where Hawthorne Heights clones are everywhere. Yeah, ska was pretty fucking annoying sometimes, but I consider it preferable to the latter. Punk seems to go in cycles, so I'm just holding my breath for a new cycle to kick in.....but by then I'll probably be close to 30 and be that creepy "old" guy in the crowd. Life sucks sometimes.

this tour is friggin sweet. it's impossible not to have a good time at a less than jake show.
Someone (January 23, 2007)
Why is everyone a retarded douche on this site? A lot of people like ska, and those people aren't idiots, or children, or tools, or anything like that. They also probably like a lot of the same bands you fuckheads like. Jesus Christ why the fuck would you post on an article about two bands you don't like? Kill yourselves. Both bands put on an amazing show, sell out venues consistently, and STILL MAKE GOOD MUSIC. Just because they don't play straight up punk and/or ska anymore doesn't mean that they don't make good music. People think that if LTJ and RBF don't come out with a rehash of Losing Streak and Turn the Radio Off respectively that they've sold out and gone soft and turned into mainstream shit. People are DEAD WRONG. THEY ARE BOTH GOOD BANDS. THIS TOUR IS WHAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR YEARS. JUST BECAUSE A BAND HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AND AWESOME ENOUGH show rest of comment 1+ Reply
