Australian activist band Consider The Meek have posted a new video for the song "Leave Me Alone" online. The track comes from the PETA compilation released by Fat Wreck Chords, Liberation.

How does it make them look bad? They're making videos about what they believe in. Surely you believe in something, and if a video about something you believe in, you wouldn't say that.

Um, I think it's videos like that that make the meat industry look bad. PETA is only out there filming what really happens. If it turns out PETA staged that whole thing and slaughtered animals brutally just so they could film it and pretend thats normal procedure, that would make them look bad. People should know where their food comes from anyway, beyond in a veg vs non-veg way.

Don't like the song from what I heard.
Didn't watch the video because I've seen stuff like it before, and because I'm already vegetarian, I no longer need to see it. It's those idiots whos only way of contributing to a topic where vegetarianism is mentioned that their only reply is along the lines "LOL IM EATING TEH BUR6ERZ0RD AND IT TASTES GRATE!!!!12", they're the ones that need to see it, and they're the ones that need to grow the fuck up, get a fucking life, and STOP EATING FLESH.

It's attitudes like yours that make me uncomfortable with vegans/vegetarians. Very similar to some of my issues with sXe. It's a personal choice, and I can respect your decision, so you really need to learn to do the same and respect mine.

In general I don't mind meat-eaters, at least I can tolerate them because I have to, as my friends, grandparents etc always eat it, my comment was directed to the meat-eaters who deliberately try to wind vegetarians up and don't respect our decisions.

You should at least understand what goes on to put meat on your plate, after that you understand that, well, feel free to keep eating it, but most many people seem to stop once they see videos of meat farms.

When was younger, I hunted deer. Cleaned the animal and ate it too. I know there is a lot of fucked up shit in the meat industry, and I don't think the methods used are appropriate. But that's where we will disagree. I believe there is nothing wrong with eating meat, though I don't think it needs to be in every meal, snacks, etc. There are humane ways to go about it, and that's where I'd prefer the emphasis be placed, not on completely eliminating human consumption of animal meat.

I'm opposed to eating meat too, but everyone waxing superior about these videos should know that they're misleading propaganda of the same variety used by pro-lifers. The vast majority of the footage is taken from third-world countries where cruelty laws don't exist or aren't enforced. You're not going to affect that system by cutting burgers out of your diet. Just thought I'd dispel that fantasy for y'all.

PETA makes itself look bad by resorting to hyperbole, propaganda and sensationalism to get its message across. It leaves itself wide open to its detractors by almost NEVER advancing an intellectual argument for its cause (other than "Raising cattle is bad for the planet! Koombaya motherfucker!"). If they used arguments like Peter Singer's and Jane Goodall's instead of taking their cues from Goebbels they'd probably be a lot more powerful, effective and mainstream of a

There are so many better punk bands over here that deserve to be on fat wreck comps.

It's pretty un-australian to not eat half cooked meat from a bbq and wash it down with beer. Once I was having a bbq and had to get some vegetarian shit for my friends(No I was not going to make a salad) I was in the deli at the supermarket and asked where the vegetarian sausages were...I honestly felt ashamed, I learnt that day that making a salad is a way better idea than buying imitation meat.

My bbq almost blew up that day too. It was pretty awesome.

i was at a vegetarian bbq (if it can be called that) on australia day and while mock-meat food doesn't taste like what its meant to taste like it's still not bad, i was surprised. not enough to stop eating meat cause i really do enjoy tasty food, but surprised none the less. also props to you for buying that stuff, i wouldn't

Yeah i've sampled the stuff, but I dunno it just doesn't taste right to me. I mean if they are giving up meat why do they still eat animal friendly alternatives to it.

I mean shit we dont really know the ingredients in sausages, isn't soy or tofu or whatever the hell they use in imitation meatmixed with other things that we probably wouldn't know of?

big barge kasprwicz was shit house. he got dropped from the team cos it seemed that he lost us the 2nd ashes test in 2005 and hence the series/ashes.... but it was really cos he was plain shithouse. bring back dizzy... kills kaspa anyday. and stuart clark is one of the worst 1 day bowlers in the world. he always gets smashed... he smashed the poms over the summer in the tests but when it comes to 1day bowling he's got nothing.
In terms of consider the meek, ive been listening to aussie punk now for around 6 years and never heard of em before today.... never seem em live.... where are they from?????? hopefully on the upcoming NOFX tour fatmike will listen to some real aussie punk like unpaid debt, bad day down etc....

Couldn't agree with you more about Lee, for a bloke with such a good action, he sure does bowl a shitload of wides. I think that young New South Wales kid, Moses Henriques should be thought of soon. He's gonna be a superstar.
And i will forever think that Andy Bichel was screwed ever. Never did anything wrong.

Fuck everyone who thinks the song sucks. That song rocks and at least it's different and has a fresh sound - not like American bands who all sound the same. I love the song "Leave me Alone" and it's probably the worst song on their album. Consider The Meek are seriously awesome.
