Leftovers post new track, album details

The Leftovers have posted a new track from their upcoming album, On The Move. The disc us due out in the Spring via Rally Records. The song is among thirteen recorded at Smart Studios in Madison WI.

The band recently earned some particularly vivid kudos from none other than Ben Weasel:

These guys are for real and this record is nothing short of amazing - one mind-bendingly great song after another as played by a balls-out, kick-ass rock band. This stuff'll tear the hair right out your scalp.

When I heard Dance with Me I loved it. It's undeniably catchy. Then I re-listened to The Strangeways 'Show Her You Care' mentioned above.

Yep. Total rip-off. If you wanna be the judge here's a link to original song. Hard to deny that they're identical.

They're definitely identical. But it's not a rip off.

You can dig deep into any pop punk bands influences and find songs that are identical. Especially when it involves 4 chord riffs with lyrics about going to a dance. It comes with the style. And I love it.

Man that sucks. I was really looking forward to their next cd based on what Ben Weasel and others said about them. I honestly don't think it's that bad though, considering Green Day and a ton of other bands steal music all the time.

I'm actually now looking forward to the full length to see what other great songs they stole.

I wasn't really into Party Tonight..for one thing 9 short songs barely deserves being called a full length. When The Locust puts out longer albums you should rethink lol
