New Music Roundup: The Burnitdowns, Appreciation Post, Birdmonster

Toronto country-punk band The Burnitdowns have posted four new MP3's from their upcoming album, The Ugly One on their MySpace page. The album is due out March 3rd.

The Appreciation Post will be streaming their new EP Brighter Sides in its entirety on their PureVolume.com Page this week only. They have also announced that their new videogame "EXCITEVAN" will soon be available.

San Francisco's Birdmonster have posted the track "Cause You Can" for download. Get the track here.

Birdmonster is one of the most obnoxious hype bands right now with absolutely no chance of catching on. The other obnoxious hype band that comes to mind is Scissors For Lefty.

I saw Birdmonster a few weeks ago and they fucking sucked. I had no idea mid-90s emo was on the comeback.

Birdmonster is amazing, not sure what your grief is. Smells of punk rock snobbery to me.
I have been a punk for 30 years.....the beginning.....once upon a time punk was a diverse music type.....husker du, x, big black, black flag, 45 grave..maybe you should open your eyes and ears to the latest wave of incredible new music happing right now. Emo they are not, they are fast, furious and accomplished musicians, I saw their recent show in Santa Rosa and in San Francisco, they rocked in a new different way....young john cougar meets pixies meets john doe. Check out "brilliant red lights", "oxford collapse", new "imperial teen" too as they are a part of something new, not a just a rehash of the same tired formual.
