Media: Casting Out (ex-Boy Sets Fire) posts four-song demo

The Casting Out, which includes Nathan Gray and Josh Latshaw of Boy Sets Fire, have posted the first four song demo recorded by the band.

The band is described as "nothing like Boy Sets Fire" and drawing it's influences from Built to Spill, REM, Elvis Costello, Jawbreaker, XTC and the Weakerthans.

After listening to the songs, i've come to the conclusion that there's no way Nathan Gray can be in a band that sounds "nothing like boy sets fire". Sure, musically it's different, but it still sounds like some of the slower BSF stuff a bit (my life in the knife trade, (10) and counting, swingset, etc.

i just got an email from a company called BayTSP and they know what files i have on my computer and want me to delete all my downloaded movies. what the fuck.

BayTSP are either:

A) Your internet provider or
B) affiliated with your internet provider

They were contacted by the MPAA who told them that you've been downloading pirated movies and the MPAA requested that they ask BayTSP to warn you/request removal of the movies.

No big deal. Don't remove them, just don't share them on BitTorrent anymore.

bay tsp is actually a company that specializes in finding pirated items on others computers. i'm not too sure what they can do legally, but it's probably not something you want to mess with.

anyone else notice the almost r.e.m.'esque vocal delivery in some spots? i like it though... i mean, nothing revolutionary but it's good, quality pop.

This is pretty good. Nathan has a distinctive voice (In a good way) so it's hard to not associate this with BSF, but there is lots of potential. This would sound good with some folky guitar playing.

After you played them you`ll find them in the temp folder of your browser ... just clean the cache before goin on the myspace page and you`ll have no problem finding the file afterwards ... for ozilla firefox download the cacheviewer extension and just search for mp3 after playing and save the file somewhere ...
If you wanna rip this, just use Audacity, it`s freeware and works awesome in combination with lame.dll you`ll get decent mp3s ... use google to find it ...

I actually disagree, There are a good 5 or 6 songs on tomorrow come today that I like alot, I can't say that about Misery Index, the best songs were the ones that didn't make the cut, Phone call 4am, dear george and plague.

I love everything they've done. The Casting Out sounds nothing like it that's for sure, but I think that sounds fuckin awesome too.

ok, so other than being musicians and songwriters, how is casting out anything like elvis costello, xtc, the weakerthans, rem, or jawbreaker?
the first few seconds were alright, but i lost interest fast and went back to listening to 7 seconds.
