Luke Abbey (Gorilla Biscuits) joins Riverboat Gamblers

Luke Abbey, drummer of NYC hardcore pioneers Gorilla Biscuits, has joined the ranks of Austin, TX's Riverboat Gamblers. Luke hooked up with the Gamblers a few weeks ago and has assumed percussion duties for the band.

You can catch Luke and the rest of the Gamblers, currently on tour with Floridians Against Me! and Fake Problems.

chris adams parted with the band in 2002.

Dunno what happened to Mark Baker (Hellions?) but was temporarily replaced by Tony Barsotti (Hagfish). Tony quit a couple of weeks ago.

i dont get the riverboat gamblers. some of their stuff is wicked as hell crazy awesome, but most of it is more filler than a jay z album.

the bronx are friggin great...both live and on albums.
granted, they might be a little better live, but the albums definitly hold up.

Agreed one-hundred percent.

I'm sad I missed that benefit where RBG and The Bronx played with Against Me! Would have been a wicked live show as all three bands are fantastic live.

Luke wasn't great with GB this summer. Very rusty, at best.
Also, this was mentioned on here more than a week ago. Nice work dudes!

Are you slow? I went, could see Luke, could obviously hear the drumming and I thought he was rushed and off. Sorry. I wasn't fucking your mom that night so I had to find something to do.

in all fairness, in the live recordings i've heard, GB was never the tightest band (as you can see if you listen to any of the live recordings from back when they were together), and when i saw them play, i don't remember being like man you know what sounds off, the drums. set wasn't flawless, but didn't make me stop and think what's going on.
