Sick Of It All tribute details

Details including a final track listing have been announced for the upcoming tribute to Sick Of It All announced last October. The record is titled Our Impact Will Be Felt: A Tribute to Sick Of It All and is due out April 24, 2007

The 20-track album will feature songs performed by bands including Rise Against, Unearth, Ignite, Comeback Kid, Napalm Death, Bane, Pennywise, Bouncing Souls, Suicide Machines and many more.

The label is also promising two new songs streaming each week until the album is released. Right now, you can hear the Bouncing Souls take on "Good Looking Out" and Hatebreed's version of "Ratpack" right here.

I'd say Sepultura and Napalm Death are a little odd, but I'm definitely looking forward to hearing their takes.

Definiitely agree on the napalm. As for sepultera, I don't know which is worse sepultera without Max or Max without sepultera!

Can't say as I've heard anything much from Sepultura sans Max, but Scratch the Surface seems like it could be good done by a brazilian metal band, if they do it right.

Most of the bands on the comp have toured with SOIA at some point over the years, so none of them are really "out of place," as SOIA's always been a pretty diverse band.

Anyone else find it wierd that Sepultura and Napalm Death are on this? I mean, aren't these compilations for people who were inspired by (thus, younger) the band? Just seems like Napalm Death and Sepultura couldn't be inspired by SOIA because, well, they were around just as long if not longer. Especially Sepultura...much before SOIA.

I'm sure they wouldn't have jumped on board if they weren't friends/influenced in some way or another. Just because they didn't influence the first album doesn't mean they weren't listening to SOIA during the next ones.

But then again, maybe they were merely fans.

And, in this case, SOIA are friends and former tourmates of those bands.

What no Fall Out Boy on this or what about My Chemical Romance? That would be stupid, but for some reason, I want to hear both of those bands try to play a Sick of It All song so we could have a good laugh.

this should be interesting lots of great bands on this comp. The bouncing souls cover sounds really awesome one of my favourite SOIA songs.

There's a four song sampler of this going around soulseek. Rise Against make the last part of their song terrible and way too melodic. Bouncing Souls one is just weird. Unearth is actually pretty good, and Kill Your Idols make the verses of the song waaaaay too fast.

Not a very good start.

I find it strange that H2O didn't contribute to this. And speaking on that note, anyone else think the Souls covering "Good Lookin Out" sounds like H2O?

I know Armand and Craig from SOIA do a lot of weird stuff like that (i.e.- the hidden tracks on "Built To Last", "Call To Arms", "Yours Truly"), and one of those guys sounds like Armand.

However, it could actually be the Souls: maybe Papillon and Greg? Papillon and Pete?

So, to answer your question, I have no fucking idea.
