So what is the average age of people that leave comments on this site? Is it between 14-20 or is it more like 21-30? because there is a lot of old people comments. What do you people consider old?

the beastie boys started out as a hardcore punk band. First album was a hardcore punk album. They also put out a hardcore punk 7 inch back in the mid 90s

Yeah but the last time I cared about them reuniting was the mid 1990's. As of late wouldn't the concept of a bunch of old men playing songs they wrote almost 30 years ago seem a little pathetic. But no, you're totally right on that 1980's thing, except that their first two main albums came out in the 1970's and their third came out in 1980 (still technically part of the 70's if you're a math nerd).
So...I guess you were wrong all around.

There was no year zero. At no point did we have a 0AD. As a result, the first decade (as a ten year term) would, technically be 01-10 with the second decade beginning on 11 and going through 20.
Following that train of logic 1980 falls in the the 1970's ten year block.

Yes their first 2 (3 if you want to get technical) albums were released in the seventies. But they also released some albums in the eighties. They were also at the hieght of their popularity in the eighties.

I've also got to disagree that the concept of old men playing songs they wrote 30 years ago is pathetic. A legendary band like the Police playing the legendary songs they wrote is far from pathetic. I think it's quite exciting. What's pathetic is the bands that reunite and try to write a bunch of new songs and push the classics aside. For instance, I went and saw Journey a few years ago (I know, I know, everybody laugh). I was pumped to hear all their old hits. What I got was a bunch of obscure songs from the early days of Journey that were written way before even Steve Perry was in the band, followed by about four of their hits and then a bunch of n

The Police tour is going to be awesome. They've announced that they're sticking to the classics. No new songs, no Sting solo songs. Just the classics, exactly what the people want.
