Tumbledown, the country-influenced side project of MXPX's Mike Herrera, has posted new music online. You can check out three songs on MySpace.
Tumbledown's debut record is still in it's early stages and is currently without a release date. News (48 comments)

Strange. I wonder if they'll give away a free bag of coffee with purchase of Tumbledown record when it comes out. 1+ Reply

The side-project of a guy already in a bad band influenced by country...i don't know...

i don't think i would really be afraid of a christian cowboy. well, they would be pretty fucking annoying.

Didn't the other Mike Herrera from the Blackout Pact just start a country band of his own? Talk about a weird coincidence.

the ballad song is best. i really hope mxpx new album is like life in general and is really fast.

i really don't understand all of hte punk rock band side projects always being country.
mevsall (March 31, 2007)
it'd be cool if instead of going way in the country direction, they mixed this sound with the mxpx sound and came up with some cool social distortion-like songs ... still cool though 1+ Reply

I'm a huge MxPx fan. One of the kind who believe they can do no wrong. But I'm dissapointed by Tumbledown. I just don't think Mike can pull off country.

These songs aren't bad, but Mike Herrera's vocals just don't work for this kind of music.

First off this shit is fucking joke...it blows. That being said almost all good country is religious based, Johhny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson etc.

MxPx had one of the absolute WORST Hostile Takeover shows last night on the already shitty Faction 28 (Sirius Satellite Radio). It was soooo bad. I can't remember the crap they played, but I do remember Poison and them saying how great they were. Throw in Bruce Springsteen and a bunch of other boring stuff and there you have your hour. I was half hoping for some solid Christian rock to make fun of it or even Tooth & Nail stuff, but instead they played shit.

wow. i can't believe i will never get the few minutes of my life back that i spent listening to this garbage...and my life sucks, so that's saying something. doesnt sound very country to me. maybe billy ray cyrus meets new found glory, to be nice.

Let's see, he still sounds like a teenage maxipad selling Pepsi and jesus. Way to rippoff the whole Avail and Inquistion members go country. I guess it might sound good the day his nuts descind and he gets his man hairs.

this is actually pretty good. not the first time a punk band did the country thing, mike ness for example. very well produced. well done.

The songs sound pretty good but the vocals are really bad. As far as mxpx they gone downhill since life in general. I dont think you can really consider them christian anymore. I know alot of people on here aren't big on Jesus, but their christian lyrics are so much better than mike's lyrics now, they sound like they just got out of high school. You would think at 30+ years you'd have some more important things to say.

The whole country side project thing has officially jumped the shark.
istapledmyfoot (April 1, 2007)
jesus this is crappy, but it makes you think, life in general blew my mind over a decade ago now, I haven't really cared about much they've done since, yet still I set here listening to mike's country side project.
Someone (April 1, 2007)
Harder and faster than the last 3 MXPX albums. (By the way Life In General is a top 10 album for me)

i just don't understand why if it doesn't sound like the over produced crap off of Victory or Fat Wreck....people have to cry about how they hate it. i know this is gonna turn some heads...but honestly do you really think anyone gives a crap about when they write something intended to be a break from the normal...they care what anyone thinks.
i may have just crossed the line and thought all you good little boys and girls liked good music. but, then again a vast majority of you actually like nofx and most of the main stream garbage that is on the radio today. maybe oneday you could all open your ears and actually hear the music and appreciate someone's talent. regardless if it's clouded with so much distortion you can't hear one of the 3 chords anyways...and if it's backed with a 4/4 drum beat. if this offends you...GOOD!!! you need to get a life. show rest of comment | Features
