Readers from back in the cold dark ages that were the early 2000s will remember Kip Doyle, who edited Punknews back when it was just Aubin, Scott and Adam on staff. Kip recently contacted us in regards to his new band Concord, and we're happy to pass it onto you folks:

I am a Punknews alum, I went by the handle, "Kip", which is my real life name, up until about 2002 when I stopped so I could concentrate on college. I had a great time as an editor and I certainly learned a lot while I was here. Would you believe it, I now write for a newspaper and I hope to continue to write for years to come. It all started with Punknews.org though, and I have to thank Aubin for getting me started.

The band is called Concord, we are from Cuba, NY and we have been compared to bands like Fugazi, ATDI, and Naked Raygun. We are looking for some dates this spring and summer around the east coast, we got out of the studio last weekend with Eric Foster (Robot Has Werewolf Hand, Trystero) and a demo is on its way soon!

The band has music online now via MySpace.
