Social Distortion, Tiger Army, Bad Religion playing KROQ Weanie Roast 2007

Los Angeles-based tastemakers KROQ have announced the lineup for their upcoming 2007 Weenie Roast. The long-running event will feature a number of favorites including Social Distortion, Tim Armstrong, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Tiger Army, 30 Seconds to Mars, Interpol, Queens of the Stone Age, and Plain White T's.

The event takes place at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine California on May 19th.

depends on prices of tickets and who gets to play the longest
at pointfest the most "popular" bands play for like an hour which is the last 3
while the first 4-5 bands only play half hour sets

The Killers are headlining the thing alongside Linkin Park, so you wouldn't have to watch them.

To see the exact order, just go to http://kroq.com/index2.html and read those three columns from left to right. That's headliner to opener.

This actually isn't as horrible a line-up as they've had in recent years, but once again it's KROQ's attempt at being "hip" and they just don't play half of these bands in their regular rotation. Unless things have changed in the two months since I last had the displeasure of hearing KROQ, the station blows and hasn't been good since the early 1980s.

While I completely understand your complaints, I think we here in LA also forget that most rock radio stations in the US are not playing ANY Bad Religion, Rancid/Tim Armstrong, Tiger Army, Social D, Rise Against, Pennywise, etc. As much as KROQ is about jumping on the bandwagon of whatever's trendy, well, that's commercial radio for you. Commercial radio will never be about anything but the lowest common denominator of the demographic (whatever the genre). While it's not the ideal, in my opinion, 5% music I enjoy is preferable to 0%.

Now, if none of the bands mentioned above are your cup of tea, that's one thing, but for the people who claim to be fans of these bands but then moan about how wrong it is that KROQ doesn't play them as much as Fallout Boy or Linkin Park... well, congratulations on having an "epiphany" most of us had when we were still in high

haha, yeah, thats one of those songs where if you listen to KROQ regularly for whatever reason, you'll hear that song once a montha nd everytime be kind of happy and embarrassed about it

The first concert I ever went to was the KROQ Inland Invasion 2 back in like 2002 or 2003. It's still tops the list as one of the best concerts I've ever been to, but it is the best festival or all day concert I've been to. The line up was the Adolescents, Bad Religion, Blink 182, The Buzzcocks, Circle Jerks, The Damned, The Distillers, GBH, New Found Glory (who got boo'd the entire time, a part of me kind of felt bad for them), The Offspring, Pennywise, The Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, T.S.O.L., Unwritten Law, The Vandals, and X.

I love Bad Religion......but I am getting sick of the big venue bullshit and all the teeny boppers at the shows. I'm sick of seeing fucking Christians at fucking Bad Religion shows....I think Greg should call them out. Whatever happened to BR playing the Whisky or the Troubadour????? Punk bands dont come off well in large venues....it sucks the energy from the performance. I hope this new record has some really harsh songs to weed out all the teeny boppers and mall punks. Whatever happened to punk being dangerous? With that said I can't wait for the new album.

Maybe you should talk to the band then. It is their decision to only play these big festivals and Warped Tour. It is the only tours they rarely do.

Actually, I think they're kinda past most of the drama by now (or at least are all business-savvy enough to know that starting trouble at a KROQ show wouldn't bode well for future commercial success)...

BUT... it would still be entertaining if shit went down!
