Motion City Soundtracks details new album

Motion City Soundtrack has announced details about their upcoming album. The record is titled Even If It Kills Me and is due out July 17, 2007. It is the follow-up to Commit This To Memory which was released in 2005.

The album was produced by the legendary Ric Ocasek (Bad Brains, Weezer, Pink Spiders, The Cars) and Adam Schlesinger/ Eli Janney (Fountains Of Wayne).

Hey if you go to their webisodes site you can get some samples of the album songs. I think they are doing pretty good but like the other albums they have their ups and downs.
So just check it out.

Eh. I dunno about that art. It's okay I guess. Their other two releases had cool art, so I kind of expected something quirky like Commit This to Memory's.

Doesn't matter though, I'm sure this record will be awesome.

I agree, I love MCS, but this artwork is slightly less creative than the other two.... it just seems like it is less their style. But I still think the album will be awesome, and I do like the colors they chose.

MCS doesn't and never has had enough synth, even compared to other bands that have keyboards. They aren't synth driven at all, they just have some guy in the band with a keyboard that he sometimes does handstands on.

I am the Movie was fun, but I personally thing Commit This to Memory is better. It has the poppy songs, but they also show versatility on "Hold Me Down."

"L. G. Fuad" was that album's saving grace. I wish they'd bring back the rock, but judging from that album art and those song titles, I'm not expecting much.

CTTM was kinda lame. I am the Movie was fucking awesome when it first came out and it still is. I hvant listened to CMMT in months but I still find myself listening to I am the movie every once in a wile

Ric Ocasek is a good choice for a synth band. He rocked the shit out of the Cars. The guitar playing on any album of theirs was awesome.
