Tours: Slayer / Marilyn Manson / Bleeding Through

The two bands responsible for all the ills in America - at least until the advent of violent video games - have announced a co-headlining tour together this summer. Slayer and Marilyn Manson will be joined by Bleeding Through on the tour which kicks off near the end of July.

Strange tour, however the aborted showcase from SXSW would have beaten it:
Riverboat Gamblers
UGK
and Yoko Ono.

1991 Anthrax,Public Enemy,Primus and Young Black Teenaers(Who were WHITE!!) Also this summer.....ZZ Top, the original Stray Cats and The Pretenders. Also Nirvana, Meat Puppets and the Boredoms was pretty wild.

I remember when Marilyn Manson was like really popular. Back when he'd/they'd be a bigger headliner than Slayer and sell these venues on his/their own. It's funny because I complained about it at the time but I'd kill for kids to be into Marilyn Manson as opposed to Fall Out Boy. At least Marilyn Manson had a message (even if it was frequently overlooked or missed) as opposed to this crap.

Last tour through the Bay Area he sold out the 2,200 person Warfield (good sized, it's where Mastodon and Against Me! played). A few years back he sold out the 7,000 person SJSU Event Center. And a few years before that he sold out an arena. He's still big yes, but he's nowhere near where he was 8 years ago or so.

Manson sucks (though I was a biiig fan when I was 11) but he is still popular, and bigger than Slayer. His fanbase may have dissipated, but he's co-headlining 10,000-20,000 seat venues this tour and we all know Slayer can't do that on their own.

This just further concretes my belief that despite the widespread myth that they "rock", Slayer actually sucks. I got the feeling when they changed the lyrics of "Guilty of Being White" to "Guilty of being right", and touring with Marilyn Manson is the icing on the cake, or the poop in the toilet, as it were.

thirded. Although Reign of Blood is still a crucial thrash album, I saw them on tour recently, and they were totally underwhelming (plus, they put on the light fixtures that temporarily blind you). This is probably the nail in the coffin that gets people to realize how lame this band now is.

Its right up there with that Buzzcocks record from a couple years back. As for changing the words to "Guilty of being white" uhh the singer isnt white you fucking retard. Its also a great irony that so m any nazi douchebags idolise them. Oh well, they dont give IQ tests to buy T shirts...OR write bullshit in forums.

I've seen Slayer before and the spectacle is enough even if you don't like the music.

I also saw Marilyn Manson when I was impressionable and stupid, but the spectacle surrounding the show was worth it because of all of the christians with their bibles that were praying toward the crowd.

Slayer and Manson? I can't imagine how many blowhard Christians will be out there. That doesnt even include the blowhard Bleeding Through and Manson crowds. I will be there just to watch a scene whore get his head smashed in.

One of the consistantly great live bands out there right now. My favorite DKM stuff was with Mike McColgan anyway, so it made perfect sense that the Street Dogs would be just as good, if not better and to me, I'm right. I see them whenever I can, can't wait for the new album

This should make for a good entertaining show.

All the bands playing are really good at what they play.. you dont have to like them to agree.. all in all im sure fun will be had if you have an intent on having a good time and enjoying the bands playing. Im excited to see kids from different walks of metal come together, no not for the fights.. but for the common purpose of enjoying a show and acting as a community.

although its a bummer its not going to Vegas..id like another excuse to go out and visit sin city. Irvine and SD will have to do. : )
