Strength Behind Tears signs to Basement Records

Basement Records have signed Strength Behind Tears. The label notes they have a "modern hardcore edge to them" and recommends the band for "fans of Poison the Well, Glassjaw, and Refused".

Their new record, Bridges Betwen Us, will hit the streets on June 26th. The band has posted some media online as well. You can check out the video for the song "On Your Back Or On Your Feet" and listen to the new track "November Tenth" at the band's MySpace page.

I saw these guys open for Scars Of Tmorrow in Newport Beach a couple of years ago and actually liked them. I got their free CD-R demo disk as well which is pretty good stuff.

I'll be looking forward to this.

If any of those bands were even remotely hardcore, and not that shitty emo/metal hybrid that people call hardcore nowadays, I might give this a try. But, unfortunately, this appears to be Taste of Chaos bullshit. Don't know 'em, haven't heard 'em, but fuck 'em.

Well, it also seems to be implicating that Refused and Poison the Well have a ton in common. I do oppose that characterization of Refused, though. Regardless of their earlier material ( which was really thrash metal influenced) The Shape of Punk to Come was fairly punk oriented. And as for it being emo- well, I could not point out an "emo" (whatever the fuck that means) track on their last album. It was much more political than personal.

Yesssss! Saw these guys when they were out here in CO. last time, great show! Cant wait till they get out here again, muah. Glad they're getting some press finally, well deserved.

I thought almost the same thing, except it was after I checked out their myspace page. The first thing that came to mind was I cant believe this band isnt on Victory. They couldnt be a more perfect fit for what they do. I always thought of Basement as punk label. this band certainly doesnt sound anything like Bullet Treatment or the other bands on their roster. But other then I dont care for the name the music was pretty good.

I first read this and got to "for fans of Poison....," and got excited, thinking it was the 80's cock-rock band.

get over the name if you don't like it. they have great skills and are an amazing band. new song and music video get two thumbs way up. i can't wait for bridges between us to come out.
