Consider The Meek planning 2008 release, split with No Use and Strung Out

Kev Lee of Consider the Meek has laid out some teasers for upcoming releases in a recent MySpace blog post. In it he titles the band's next full length Above The System and estimates a 2008 release. He also lets loose news of a 3-way split between the Meek and veteran Fat-rockers No Use For A Name and Strung Out. No firm details for either release are available however.

The band will be playing as support for Marky Ramone on his September 14th visit to Taipei.

NUFAN and Strung Out. Two bands that started their careers making similar styles of music, and then went opposite directions.

both fast skate punk with metal guitarwork. Sly's vocals were a little rougher than Cruz's ever were very early on, but by Don't Miss The Train the vocal styles were very similar.

Strung Out went metal, NUFAN went pop. both turned out sweet.

I live in Australia and Ive never heard anything about Consider The Meek other than on this site. I find that wierd. Although anything with strung out and No use has to be sweet, I cannot wait.

Doesn't it say something that everyone has to use the same lyric to trash Strung Out? I mean, yeah, sometimes the lyrics aren't the best, but you should find something other than that one. It's getting sad that you have only that one to rely on for trash talk.

so i really need a new laptop. badly. i think i might break down and get a MacBook just because my brother has a $400 Apple credit he'll give me.

anyway, one of the only things that stopping me is how i would use SLSK and BitTorrent. does anyone with a Mac know how this SoulSeex shit works? and what about Mac BT clients?

go for the macbook.I bought one a year ago and would never switch back to a windows laptop.there are plenty of good BT and SLSK clients for macs.azureus for example (BT client).

Ok, the scoop on this is, this wont be a split with new songs. The idea behind this CD is from me being in touch with Kev over in Taiwan and us talking about how our music isnt available in countrys like Hong Kong, Philippines, and a list of other countrys. We are doing this as an avenue to have some music out that will be able to be distributed to these places. It will help with possible opportunitys to visit some of these countries in the future possibly. This CD should not be made available in the states. Consider The Meek is Kevs band and they are on his own label which is out of Taiwan. I was thinking this would be a cool thing to do, and i spoke with Tony about NUFAN being on it and he was down as well. Thats whats up with this. So no, we wont be playing NUFAN songs (or vice versa), and no

The songs currently space are from Consider The Meek's last release The Now Generation...and if you read Kev Lee's entry carefully, he says they will start posting new unmastered tracks in July.

I believe it will just be a sampler based on Jordan Burns' statement, sounds like a few solid tracks from each band shipped to those friendly asians.
