Less Than Jake recording at the Blasting Room

While the full details are absent, The Blasting Room has revealed that they will be recording the next album from Less Than Jake. Anticipation is high for the record, particulary since it will be the first since the band parted ways with Warner Bros. and Fueled by Ramen.

The new record is the follow up to In with the Out Crowd.

agreed, i was listening to it today, i think it's probably one of my favourite pop punk albums, and the production is perfect for the genre, not too overproduced, but not sounding like it was recorded in a shoebox either. rog produced it i think, so if he has a hand in the production side of this along with stevenson and livermore, it could kick ass!

whoever produced in with the out crowd needs fucking shooting though.

Can't wait till hear this Florida band's new release. Florida pop-rockers Yellowcard have put together a new ablum also, not sure where it was recorded, but it's hitting the streets soon, keep your ears and eyes open! They wear their heart on their sleeve!

No, no they havent. They departed from Capitol after after Hello Rockview leaving them free angents until they signed with fat in 1999/2000. They were once again free agents after that because fat only signs one record deals until they signed with warner in 2002/2003.

So am I aware that B&B is their only non-major release since HR? Yes i am. but they have not been on a major ever since Losing Streak for there were several years of them being signed to no label at all.

Consider the difference between what's popular in mainstream music now and what was popular when "Hello Rockview" was released. Back in '98 (I think that's when "Hello Rockview" was released...), ska got a lot of exposure in the mainstream with bands like Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and so on. Now the trends are leaning more towards poppy bands like Yellowcard, Simple Plan, Analcunt, and so on, so I'm wondering if Warner pushed for them to write and release poppier records with "Anthem" and "In With The Out Crowd."

btw, does anyone remember a few years back (i'm talking early 00's here) seeing an advert in magazines for an LTJ live album released on Gold Records, and the cover was a map of the london underground. whatever happened to that?

They play a "Price Is Right" like game on stage, with three kids from the crowd, and based on how they play Plinko and spin the wheel, LTJ plays half their set of whatever album the kid "wins". Its pretty cool, Buffalo got Losing Streak both times, so the whole set was practically Losing streak, almost the whole album. AAA, SM, and RBF all put on a good show too. and thats after I gave up on RBF a few years ago.

I have always loved Less Than Jake, until their last record. It could be the worst album I've ever heard. If I wanted to listen to a sell-out, corporately controlled, angst-filled, time wasting album with no ska and no punk rock on the whole fucking thing I'd pick up My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy or The Used or some other shit filled bitch-fest.

Goddamn I'm getting sick of my favorite bands turning into corporately owned vaginas. I hate seeing them piss all over quality music and then bend over and take it in the ass from the highest bidder.
