I'm all for pulling out of Iraq as soon as possible, even tomorrow if we had the logistical capability to do so. But if you thank that would end the war, you are dense.

If you think the number of deaths and orphans in Iraq is bad now, just wait until we leave. A good number of those people are animals and have no restraint except down the barrel of an M-4 Carbine in the hands of a US Soldier. As soon as that restraint is taken away, the slaughter will be horrific. They do not view life with the same value that we do here. They've found their issue and they are going to push it home regardless of the human cost. Anything to defeat Bush, that "At all costs" attitude has been the status quo ever since he got into office.

I am against the war as well. But only because I could care less about the Iraqi people. I'd rather save 1,000 US soldiers lives at the expense of the 100,000 Iraqis killed when we leave. They have not earned the priviledge of liberty and security because they'd rather fight over what religion one another...so screw 'em.

But any of you people who are against the war because you think lives will be saved when we leave are dillusional. Iraq was no less bloody under Saddam than it is now, nor will it be when we leave. The only difference under Saddam was that it was done in secret and done to marginalized people in remote areas of the country where the urban class of Baghdad did not have to view it or deal with it.

But I think you already know that, and that's why I think the Anti-War movement is purely self serving for certain individuals and political groups both fringe and mainstream. It's a shame that the sheeple in this country have not had an opportunity to figure this out for themselves.

It had nothing to do with the great intentions of this charity. Good for them. It has to do with frame of reference. I certianly do not want people to feel "flipping stupid" when I open my mouth. I want them to think. Over a million Iraqi citizens dead since the first invasion of Iraq in '91. (over 500,000 of them children. Don't believe me? ask Madeleine Albright what she said on 60 Minutes). I do not want anyone to die wether it is people of Iraq, USA, Australia or fucking Antarctica. To dismiss this FACT as "lame" or "propaganda" is just lazy and sad. While arguing about this on the internet, I admit, is childish; making a point "and another and another" is the least we can do. I think it is quite simple and comes down to this..... If you support the war in Iraq you support killing innocent people.

Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, and Islamic Fighters. You really think they will all make nice because the Americans are gone? They kill more of each other even today than we kill of them and them of us.

I'm definitely against the war because of the cost to our country and the incredibly poor military planning that went into it. But if my goal was saving lives I'd be 100% for staying until the job was done.

Keep in mind that all of those countries helped to pass numerous resolutions in the UN against Saddam that threatened force as the penalty for non-compliance in the months leading up to the war.

The biggest tragedy of this whole thing is that the world was too preoccupied with their own greed and interests to form a unified front against Saddam that could have prevented this whole thing.

We had 3 choices
1) Unified front (made impossible by Germany, Russia and France)
2) The UN becoming irrelavent via inaction

I can't say I have all the facts, but there may be some truth in it. As I am understood, the families of 911 victims have received or are scheduled to receive untold millions from all the charities setup around the attack.

I'm still proud of these guys for the work they are doing. Atleast on the face it doesn't appear to be another political statement disguised as a charity. I'm all for any kind of charity as long as it isn't serving some other agenda.
