A source close to the band is reporting that New Jersey's The Gaslight Anthem have been removed from the Saints and Sinners Festival lineup. Reportedly, Max Cruise Entertainment, who runs the festival, along with Bamboozle Festival, requested the band be removed after learning of a "conflicting" show, which does not occur on the same day, weekend, week or even month of the festival. The band was notified of the change on their current tour in Germany, and also been removed from the lineup on the Saints and Sinners website.
The current lineup includes Glassjaw, Against Me!, Strike Anywhere, The Casualties and many others. The two day event takes place November 3rd and 4th in Asbury Park, NJ. Upon their return from Europe, The Gaslight Anthem will embark on their second national tour of the year, this time with The Draft and Dead To Me, including a stop at another festival, The Fest 6, in Gainesville, FL occurring October 26, 27 and 28th. They plan to release their new EP, Seņor & the Queen, this year via Sabot Productions. XOXO Records (20 comments)

Not sure if it came down to a choice for the band or not, but if they sided with The Fest they made the right choice. I really hope a professional promoter wouldn't make a band choose between playing two festivals on separate ends of a coast. 1+ Reply

Hey does anyone want to see Thursday at Starland on New Years eve instead of going to Saints and Sinners? I'm going with a bunch of New Brunswick and Bridgewater area hooligans. I'm sure this New Years eve show will be so much better than Saints and Sinners, especially since there's gonna be a lot more friends there than fanbois.

This is a well known thing. Basically when you sign up to do Saints and Sinners, Bamboozle, or Skate n Surf and are a smaller band, you say that you won't play a show in a certain mile radius for a certain time period before the show. I'm pretty sure the terms are insane. Either way this is good news. Now Gaslight will probably play a smaller show with better bands for less money.
