Jim Ward, frontman of Sparta and former At the Drive-In member, has announced plans to release his first solo effort via his own Civil Defense Leage Records and Doghouse.
The record is an EP titled Quiet and is due out November 06, 2007. Jim enlisted the aid of some friends in the album including Ray Wallace of Secret Life of Sparrows, Chris Heinrich of Sleepercar and Maura Davis of Denali and Ambulette.

This songs are surprisingly heartfelt and good. Immediately reminds me of onelinedrawing, or the folky side of Bright Eyes.
