Sadly, fans of the The Mighty Mighty Bosstones may have some trouble getting tickets if they didn't make their purchase in the first few minutes of the pre-sale. Currently, tickets for the highly anticipated five day reunion performances are selling for prices between $300.00 and $1250.00, at least based on the asking prices on Stubhub.com.
The tickets originally sold for $25.00. Ska and Reggae (85 comments)

My mom saw the Bosstones when she was in high school. Hopefully I got some of those awesome genes. 10+ Replies

Things like this bother me. I really dislike this kind of opportunism. I see the same thing on e-bay where dudes sell records with descriptions like, "I bought two copies of this now totally oop record. Take advantage as they're all sold out". 6+ Replies

I sold my ticket to the punknews/mutiny cmj showcase for what i paid for it. I think the commercial raping of music, or art in general, is just terrible.

bosstones, nothing. 4+ Replies

I reallly need 2 tix for the show, but my limited travel budget doesnt cover more than paying twice the cost. I hope that scalp prices come down as they usually do over time.

I wouldn't even pay those prices if The Hippos reunited for a few shows, and they're my favorite band ever. Spending that sort of money to see any band just seems silly to me.

that is so fuckin stupid, just so fucking wrong... $1250 for a fuckin show?
jacknife737 (October 23, 2007)
it would be funny if the Bosstones announce that they were doing more shows, and then watch how many people still try and pay 1250 for a ticket.
skaboom (October 23, 2007)
Yeah, that was pretty ridiculous, tickets were sold out when I tried to get them at 10:06, six minutes after they went on sale. Thankfully a friend snagged 2 each for the 27, 28, 29 shows. If we both got them, I would have considered selling mine for some markup (hey, travel and hotels are expensive, it's only to offset the cost, not to make a profit) but I was thinking maybe $50-$75, not $1000+, yeesh. So much for a community. 1+ Reply

Really, who's going to pay $1250 to see ANY band? For $1250 you can hire out a venue, pay a few bands and put on your own show. 1+ Reply

Most kids on this board probably don't realize that this is completely normal for mainstream events. Try getting Flyers tickets when the Devils are in town, or tickets to the Boss at Lincoln Financial Field is nearly impossible. Stubhub is the only answer. Also, grown ups have credit cards and ticket master accounts and jobs that pay money just for these circumstances, because there are only a few things that happen in a year that truly make us happy and for a lot of us, this is one of them. 2+ Replies

Seriously? $1250? I've seen the Bosstones a few times, and they're a great band and one that I owe a lot of my punk/ska/hardcore interest to, but that's ridiculous. I wouldn't pay that much to see Metallica when Cliff was alive at a club show........well maybe I would. The Bosstones' Enter Sandman cover is the shit.
Cuffer (October 23, 2007)
This is real shitty. I've been wating for this for some time now, and now I won't be able to go since some assholes are selling tickets for an insane amount of money. I never expected tickets to a SKA show would go for a thousand dollars but what do I know.
PervyD (October 23, 2007)
I used to love the Bosstones back in the Question the Answers days....but sweet Jesus. They were highly influential to a movement that remains about as popular as it ever was. Van Halen owned part of the 80's, and they don't even get that much for their reunion tix.
abrrock (October 23, 2007)
$1250? no band is worth that price. let alone the fucking mighty mighty bosstones. the zeppelin reunion, as far as i know, has not even reached that ridiculous price. people are retarded. i wish i had tickets to make a quick grand or so.

Scalpers are the scum of the earth [Y/N]?
sandyclam (October 23, 2007)
Thank frickin god I got two tix at exacty 10:00 am. My plan was to get 2 for opening night first, then 2 more for either Friday or Saturday. Oh well, they were all sold out at 10:02 when I went to get the second pair.
boris123 (October 23, 2007)
I should sell my tickets to wed and thurs and my game 2 world series ticket
punk_rawk_show (October 23, 2007)
I'm glad to see that they are still very much popular, bring back ska
xchemicalx (October 23, 2007)
Is there any proof that anyone is PAYING 1250 for a ticket? No. Because no one is. I could put my night one tickets up on stub hub for a million dollars, but no one said anyone has to pay that much. The highest these tickets are selling for are about 500 a PAIR on ebay. Don't be so naive.
Riptide (October 24, 2007)
Ya know I Remember the first time I saw the Bosstones, with H2O and DKM (Mike era). It was in the early 90's. That show cost 0.97 cents to get into. That a far cry from $1200. That is recockulous!
Bill737 (October 24, 2007)
Yes, it is absolutely insane that tickets go for prices like this, BUT, what people need to start realizing is that as long people keep buying them at the high prices, the will continue to be sold for these ridiculous profits! 1+ Reply

yeah, it really is fucking rediculous. I tried to get tickets but they sold out in a minute so now im gonna have to find my way in. I really hope the bosstones do something about this, because this blows

I'm going to laugh hard when they tour the US after people paid these outrageous prices. While its not the most honest thing to scalp tickets like this, you have to admit that the people earning 5000% back on their investments are much smarter than the people paying 50x face value
