The Sidekicks are like, dude, Brendan's favorite band right now. So we're gonna release, distribute, promote, yada yada, their new record, "So Long, Soggy Dog". They're an awesome young band in the vein of HWM, AM!, TLA, D4, and maybe some other abbreviated punk bands. Perhaps we'll call them SK? Maybe not. We're gonna start with a digital release, then get rad from there. Go check out this band because they're young as hell, but wise beyond their years and brimming with talent. They also don't give a flying fuck about traffic cones. Inquire within.
What's new on the tour with American Steel and The Lawrence Arms? Well, I had to fire our driver, send two band members to the hospital, and we got fucked by UPS today. ALL IN ONE DAY! The good news is that the shows are going great and that Teenage Bottlerocket is gonna play with us in Denver. Sweet meats. 'Til Next time...
Red Scare Records has signed Ohio four piece the Sidekicks. The label also dropped an update on the The Lawrence Arms' 8th Annual Unbelievable Self-Indulgence Fest tour with Sundowner, the Falcon and American Steel. It would almost be a crime to rewrite Red Scare's press releases, so here we go:

Seems Toby forgot to include the part about where he got naked, covered himself in baby oil, climbed into a shopping cart and was pushed, ass first, through a corn field. And not one where the stocks go straight up, they were at an angle like the cover of Against the Grain. 4+ Replies

so how many bands will punknews get singed by featuring them? seriously. Next band I have I'm posting as a listen, and you guys will probably just make fun of it : ( don't judge the current myspace adress's song, that's years old
drunkenriot (November 7, 2007)
I'll go to the Mass show, as long as they get a place to play, if they need help they should ask, I'll gladly help

I'm not one to generally have any sort of "allegiance" to a record label ... but damn if Red Scare just keeps getting better and better. Great job, Toby and Bren.
misterspike (November 7, 2007)
Oh yeah ... this has nothing to do with Red Scare ... but yr. pal spike just got his two tix for HWM in Orlando. Hell Yes!

i have much love for these dudes, and i am surprised it took so long to make this announcement. the record is great and i feel pretty lucky to have one of the first copies with original art work and without that silly red scare imprint on it. EBAY!

I am really liking the Sidekicks stuff I have heard on their myspace. Glad to hear they have been picked up by a great label like Red Scare

"Matt was running down the street with those traffic cones like a mouse with cheese."

Red Scare is the most awesome label around these days. I am slowly, but surely, buying every record they have put out.
IanIsSuperRad (November 7, 2007)
I'm so happy for these dudes. They're such awesome guys. Their CD, while self produced, is still better than 90% of the garbage released this year.

Can't say the last time i heard of a band from Ohio that i thought was rad..i like defiance ohio thats as close as it gets...and i'm pretty sure they aren't from ohio...being from melbourne probably doesn't help...but i'll be sure to order this one over the pacific once i get the chance

The Sidekicks are sweet! Congrats! But I'd definately say the best Cleveland punk band around is Echoes of Hapers Ferry. I saw them open for the Draft and A Wilhelm Scream and I picked up their e.p. and was blown away! Sounds very FAT WRECK! 3+ Replies

Props to the sidekicks! we've been doing shows with those kids forever, and I can honestly say Matt and the gang have always worked their asses off and made every show we played together a great time. So Long Soggy dog is fantastic end of story.
Rozcoemission (November 8, 2007)
To clarify... I have nothing against positive or the riot boys, I just came to the conclusion that someone who makes a fake user name to slam a band is probably from the same age demographic. I just don't care to be refferred to as a 'bro'. Anyways, we've played shows with the sidekicks and they're a great bunch of guys and they deserve to be on a good label like Red Scare.

The Sidekicks, while young, put many of their peers to shame. Great group of guys with some really good material. Best of luck to them! | Features
