Coheed & Cambria to tour with Linkin Park

Coheed & Cambria have cancelled their upcoming appearances at the Soundwave festival in Australia. The band explained:

Linkin Park has personally invited us to support them in the US during this time and after a lot of thought, we have accepted. While this is good news for us and our fans in the US, we realize it is a blow to you down under and in mainland Europe, and we apologize for any inconvenience this will cause.

[We] will instead come to your shores at the end of March to play our own theater shows.

The first two dates for the Linkin Park tour are set to take place February 16th in Detroit, and February 18th in New Hampshire. More dates are expected in the coming weeks.

Their live show and their work ethic. Even if you don't like a band, you've got to give them credit. I also seem to remember them donating $100,000 for Katrina relief (which many of you gave them shit for because they didn't donate more).

Jam packed = more sales, and since Coheed could possibly play well enough to convince some retarded 13 year olds to check them out. Not a bad idea hitching your wagon to one immensely popular shit band these days. Keep being punk though, shit's cool too.

Yeah ... geee it would be terrible to expose your music to a whole bunch of people who might not be familiar with you, 13 years old or not - music's meant to be heard and if you're a musician the more people that hear it the better.

Its a great opportunity for them just like Sparta w/ Velvet Revolver or Mars Volta w/ RHCP. If you were a musician you'd be an idiot not to do this tour.

it's some fucking festival they're cancelling, who cares? Besides, it's better than when those losers voxtrot cancelled a bunch of their own shows to play those same cities in a different order opening for the Arctic Monkeys. The Monkeys' fans didn't like them much either, so nothing was gained.

sorry. this might be a shit band but that is well out of order and selfishness of the highest order. i don't give a flying fuck if joey ramone's reanimated corpse invites you to play a gig; if you're booked you're booked. maybe not on this site, but a lot of people (probably devoted 14 year old kids) are going to be really upset by this. I remember blink 182 cancelling their tour to the UK when i was about that age and alot of my friends were devistated - and no one can claim to have an emotional bond with blink in a way kids will with this genre. not cool.

Now see, what both sucks and blows about this is that I'm from Australia and the shows they canceled were Festival dates. $100 festival dates. Which I and many people paid for too see them. Now we'll miss them and have to pay money again too see them when they finally do come out.

Though I completely understand and it is a good career move. It just sucks for us.
