Lucero added to Hot Water Music dates in Chicago

Lucero has been added to the two Chicago reunion shows with Hot Water Music. The shows come shortly after some southern US dates where Lucero will be supported by Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan.

Tickets for the February 2nd, 2008 date are sold out but some tickets remain for the February 1st show.

It's 33 degrees, not that bad. It got warmer today, so all of the ice from the freezing rain melted. It's nice.

I'm out here in Oklahoma City, in the wake of the ice storm of freaking DOOM. My neighborhood is destroyed, every other tree has been uprooted and fallen over, utility poles and trees have fallen on cars and homes, and transformers keep exploding. I was out of power for 4 days. That was pretty cold.

This is fucking wild. I get to see Chuck and Ben play together in Atlanta then head up to chicago to see hwm and lucero play together for the friday show.

Eh. I'm going to the Feb. 2nd show, but Lucero doesn't really excite me. I have 3 of their albums, I'll pop one in every few months, kind of enjoy it, and then months pass.
As for seeing them live, I could be totally wrong but I imagine them being really boring. Kind of like The Weakerthans... amazing fucking records, one of the worst shows I've EVER been to.

I was really hoping for The Lawrence Arms as the opener. Sigh.

You are in for a treat. Lucero's live shows are always full of energy. They play their songs faster live and the crowd is always really into it.

Dude, I see from a lot of your posts that you live in Chicago. If you're free tomorrow night (Thursday, the 13th), come out to the Cobra Lounge. My band, and 3 other frikkin sweet bands are playing for free, and they have about the best Mac N Cheese you've ever tasted. Say "yo, what;s up!?" if you come out.

anyone heard the new defiance ohio cd?...i got in the post yesterday and was probably the most dissapointed i've ever been about a band's new record. Theres not one song on it that I like....absoloutely gutted!

oh well, anyone else got opinions on it?

hell, i enjoyed it. it wasn't as good as share what ya' got, which i still listen to on a regular basis, but it was still pretty good. the list is a good song, so is eureka and oh cheri. those tracks really stood out the first couple times i listened to it.

Anyone know of any good shows or stuff to do in Chicago on Jan 31st or Feb 2nd? I'm coming from Detroit for the Feb 1st show but will be there all weekend and I'm not too familiar with the city.
