Suburban Home announces 'Under the Influence' 7" series

Suburban Home Records have announced a new 7" series entitled "Under the Influence." The Denver, Colorado label plans to offer a number of 7" records featuring two bands covering songs that, surprisingly enough, they claim as influential.

The first release in the series will feature both Fake Problems and Look Mexico. Other acts announced include Lucero, Drag the River, Chuck Ragan, Tim Barry and WIlliam Elliott Whitmore

When I saw Ben Nichols open for Chuck Ragan a couple weeks ago he mentioned that he'd been listening to alot of Townes Van Zant, I'd love to hear a lucero version of 'At My Window'!

Did he do "If Only You Were Lonely?" at your stop too? He sang it kind of funny, but it was still really moving in drunken loser kind of way.

Should be good. I really love that Virgil has embraced the vinyl format. He had trouble with Suburban Home and had to lay a bunch of people off but he found a new niche and has actually managed to do alright recently. Dude's a survivor and hopefully his work with vinyl will have long term benefits for him.

this is the folk/country/acoustic part.

there is also a rock part, with O Pioneers!!!, new bruises, Lagracia and more!

Yeah, all of my allotted 'music money' goes to one of those two labels, with the exception of the hip-hop and country style shit that I can't find on those labels, but hell I just ordered the new Austin Lucas and a pegboy disc from No Idea, sit they should just start taking money out of my paycheck!

The Stereotypewriter "under..." e.p. was pretty cool, with them covering Seaweed, The Cure, Fugazi, ect. Planes Mistaken For Stars was supposed to have one as well.

Can't wait to hear this.
