You know whats funny? Driving 13 hours to Chicago from Oklahoma City, seeing HWM, going to get a hot dog across the street right after the show and Jason Black being there and telling you that they are playing a free show in Austin in a month and a half...(which is 5 hours away instead of 13), plus you have a free place to stay in Austin.

Sheeyit.

It's alright though, it was all worth it, it just cost me a shitload with gas and hotel and what not.

No I think he's referring to the airfare, hotel and ground transportation. I mean I'm already saving up for The Fest this year which isn't until October but I figure it will run be about $1200

my fest bill last year wasnt quite that much.

my airfare from DCA to orlando: 200 bucks r/t
rental car: 100 bucks (or fly direct to gainesville and save a hundred bucks but maybe airfare is higher)
hotel: ~100/night*4 (i didnt split the bill with the people i went with) = 400 (can also stay at other area hotels for much cheaper)
food: 20 bucks a day * 4 (food is cheap in gainesville) = 80
beer: 20 bucks a day (also cheap) *4 = 80
ticket: 50 bucks
hangover budget (coffee, tyelenol, pepto, etc): 20 bucks.

the problem is that all the bands are awesome and you want to buy all their shit.

you can do a pretty awesome ghetto trip down there, too. lots of people hopped trains, rode the bus, or hitched down and just found a floor to sleep on. pretty much anyone will let you stay with them there as long

Shit's packed because it's ex HWM. If that band existed without the ex-member factor, show's would be a LOT different.
