Ex-As Friends Rust/Salem Members launch label, sign Liquid Limbs

Tom Rankine (ex As Friends Rust / Salem / Bird Of Ill Omen), Joe Simmons (ex As Friends Rust / Salem / Morning Again) and Matt Finch have started a new label titled Sound Study Recordings. The label's first signing is Gainesville's Liquid Limbs. The band is entering the studio with Derron Nehfur and Ryan Williams to begin their debut full length. You can check some demos on the band's MySpace page. The record is set for release in early summer as both a digital download and in a 12" vinyl/CD combo package.

i would love a reunion. one of the best shows i've ever been to was as friends rust and strike anywhere in the middle of a city park on a tennis court. what a great time.

Blanketed in bubble wrap, kept my heart in a doggie bag.
9 to 5 in the portolet, hold my zip-loc dreams while I styrofoam.
Opened up the mail-order wife with a plastic knife and she mp3'd.
She was beautiful, like one of them Real Dolls.
Laid down the terrycloth on the astro-turf.
Set up the paper plates, the inflatable dates, for a rewinded picnic.
Can't keep a love like this just anywhere.
Gotta keep a love like this in tupperware.

Liquid Limbs is one of the best bands going around in Gainesville right now! Stoked to hear this record when it comes out (even though I hear Tom eats babies and Matt endorses it!

Hullo; being a slow boy, can anyone tell me what happened after As Friends Rust, and even during, and before?! Are there any other bands worth checking from these fine folks? There's different singers on some records yeah? I have only Won and A Trophy Young Band...
