Queers, H2O "Live at CBGB" DVDs planned

MVD has announced the release of two new live DVDs recorded at legendary (and defunct) venue, CBGB. On May 13, 2008 the label will be releasing H2O - CBGB OMFUG Masters: Live August 19, 2002 The Bowery Collection and The Queers - CBGB OMFUG Masters: Live February 3, 2003 The Bowery Collection.

Both discs run 60 minutes and you can check out the cover art here and here.

I never counted Vapid and Panic, they were loaners from Screeching Weasel. I don't count Tulu and Wimpy, cause NOBODY knew that shit... I like the recorded output though. Like I said, it's B-Face and Hugh that is it. Everything else isn't the Queers in my mind.

You know what sucks? The Rocket from the Crypt last show comes out today and nobody around here has it. Assholes.

I've looked everywhere in our area, no 'big box' stores Best Buy, Circuit City, Borders, nobody has it. I checked online to do instore pick-up at all of those places and there aren't any copies in our area

I thought so, every subpar release was all over every store, including Target, we don't have any real record stores around anymore, it sucks, it's not like the store is hiding it, or that I'm dealing with some dumb S.O.B. that doesn't know where things are, this is a computer talking to me man, no in-store pickup. Nothing there. I hate it, I was going to pick that and the Justice League: New Frontier DVD up on my way home.

I was pretty upset when Hugh died, I saw that guy live so many times. Lots of great times, I last bought 'Don't Back Down' so I guess It's only been 11 years since I paid for a record, I heard a few tracks off of 'Beyond the Valley' and descided I would just hang it up and pretend they broke up.

Beyond the Valley was pretty horrendous. I'm pretty sure Joe wasn't over Hugh's death at the time and was lashing out.

But their last two records, Pleasent Screams and the very Beach Boys-esque Munki Brain are really worth checking out. If you liked Don't Back Down, give those two a listen.

New Queers is definately worth a shot. There is obviously no comparrison between the last couple albums and Love Songs...., much like you can't compare the final SW releases to My Brain Hurts. That being said, each of the last couple of records all have a bit of quality shit on them (yes, Beyond the Valley mostly sucks, but Strangle that Girl is a gem). I'll send you a mix cd of all the post Hugh Queers. Its coming air mail. Look for it Friday around 1:30.

Also, who would have ever thought to release a live Queers record? Fucking brilliant! I can't believe no one has thought to put one out yet!

best thing about live queers records is that at least a couple have the same basic track list. suck this and live in hollywood are almost the same save for a few newer songs peppered in here and there

To me it would be retarded if he stopped playing the "homework" songs just because he's older. Who gives a fuck? The guy can write some catchy ass songs.

Definitely pickin up the Queers DVD. I already have the "Queers Are Here" one which is ok.. more interviews than playing probably, and it's nice to hear him rip on shit like My Chemical Bullshit and bands like that (which for some reason get news coverage here), but I wanna see a live show. "Live at Bernie's" was great, same ol Queers but sped the fuck up so it's even faster... beautiful.

I was near death at that h2o show..it was about 200 degrees, you can just imagine what that does to the cb's bathroom.
