Atreyu to release extended "Lead Sails Paper Anchor"

Atreyu have announced the details for a extended edition of their 2007 Hollywood Records debut, Lead Sails Paper Anchor. The record is due out April 15, 2008 and will feature three new studio recordings, video profiles of the band, behind the scenes footage from the road, a digital booklet and other content.

The band has launched a trailer for the album.

Man, all these "Special Edition" reissues of albums that aren't even a year old just keep proving again and again that the record industry is propped up basically by trying to sell people the same album twice.

It is a massive cash grab. Most of the time the extras aren't worth it at all, the only thing worthwhile are the ones that are YEARS in the making. Examples: Reissues with extra stuff by Jawbreaker, Replacements, Ramones

Yeah, the Replacements and Smiths boxsets are going to be goldmines, not to mention the Goddammit! reissue.

What's sad is that the cashgrab reissues aren't even for albums that will be classics. Crimson and New Maps of Hell had there moments and I enjoyed them overall, but at no point in listening to them did I say "wow, I'd like a look at the bigger picture behind the making of this classic."

Man, how much has EMI made selling people the same Beatles albums over and over?

They should be murdered just on principle for selling people Beatles records at all.

I didn't mind that they reissued Crimson with the extra crap... I just downloaded it... and for the most part regretted it. They got my money once, they weren't getting me a second time with live and acoustic versions and those so-called remixes.

Phil Collins scares me now.

One time me and a bunch of people were at a friends house, and all of the sudden, out of a locked room, we started hearing Phil Collins. It played the whole album once, and then shut off. We're not sure what it was, considering there was nothing in there that could even play an album.

It was creepy.

everytime i go to hastings, there is a huuuuuge fucking stack of this cd just sitting there. i swear one copy hasnt been sold there at all.

either atreyu fans are suddenly supporting the local record shops or this record just plain sucks.

Whao, three bass drums? Do they really need three bass drums? I mean, the guy only has two feet and from listening to their songs it's unlikely he uses half the crap on his drum set anyways. Also, I lol'd at the fact that their screamer gets almost no vocal time anymore. In the video all he's shown doing is performing a few jumps and shouting "Go!"
