True Widow (ex-Slowride) has signed to End Sounds

The label describes the band as "brooding and haunting slowcore in a blend of country, garage, and shoegaze with Dan Phillips' signature morphine drip vocal melodies". True Widow's debut full-length will be out in Fall 2008 and the band goes into The Echo Lab studio with Matt Pence (Centro-Matic, Ester Drang, Aqueduct) in May.

fun fact:

my ex-gf's dad used to be in a band with joe walsh, when they were in college. he played drums, although i do not recall the name.

I'm scared to listen to this, but I will say that the last two Slowride records were top freakin notch.

Especially "Building a Building."
