I was unaware NOFX ever won an award for anything, let alone on ESPN. What the hell was that for anyhow?
MattRamone (April 28, 2008)
Number one is spot fucking on.

Was this list made in preparation of Punk's Not Dead dvd being released this week?
misfit949 (April 28, 2008)
haha I totally forgot about that Michael Graves segment. What a fucking idiot.
the_other_scott (April 28, 2008)
if anybody has the videos for the Replacements on SNL or Greg Gaffin on Politically Incorrect, they will be added.

Wasn't GWAR on some talk show? Maybe Springer. Anyhow, I just remember it was funny as shit because they were in costume and everything.

What about the guy from Earth Crisis, the singer Karl on Fox News. I know Earth Crisis is not exactly a punk band, but they are covered on this site.

Medley (April 28, 2008)
Jay from Frenzal Rhomb on Canadian sports talk show Off The Record, circa 1999. He didn't say much.
lifetimerule (April 28, 2008)

Somewhere on my computer I have NOFX and the Souls on Conan. While not the greatest performances ever, I still thought it was pretty neat seeing them on Late Night.
Cottage_Cheese (April 28, 2008)
When I first saw the title, I immediately thought of At the Drive In performing "One Armed Scissor" on Conan, but I guess they're not punk enough.

I'd atleast give an honorable mention to Danzig on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but he didn't play music, he was just there being awesome.

i'm sure this will catch a lot of shit but green days performance at woodstock opened up punk to a larger audience and there are a lot of bands out there now that owe their ass to that band and that show.
manincognito (April 28, 2008)
that will forever be one of the finest band appearances on the simpsons ever. god, i love that clip. it's right up there with spinal tap.
King_Rodney (April 28, 2008)
Not exactly punk, but Dave Mustaine on that Looney Toons show Duck Dodgers was always pretty funny to me.
PhillipIck (April 29, 2008)
the funniest shit was when Michael Graves called into the Howard Stern show while Fat Mike was on promoting Punkvoter. Stern shut the whole Conservative punk thing down and dumped the call. It was great. |

Oh my god, I completely forgot about that NOFX on ESPN thing. I think I used to have it taped way back when.
