Our friend Scott has put together a list of the The Ten Greatest TV Appearances by Punk Rock Bands.. Among the entries are NOFX's appearance on ESPN, Iggy Pop on Tomorrow with Tom Snyder, Brendan Kelly/Michael Graves on the Daily Show, The Sex Pistols on the Today Show, New York Hardcore on Phil Donahue, Fear/Ian MacKaye on SNL and many others.

You are correct, it was Springer when he still had real people on the show, the show also included El Duce of the mentors.

Somewhere on my computer I have NOFX and the Souls on Conan. While not the greatest performances ever, I still thought it was pretty neat seeing them on Late Night.

that performance is epic (and not in a bullshit Mars Volta type way either)

i was trying to skip straight perfromance footage on talk shows, because there's soooo many of them. the few that I did were for special reasons.

i love(d) ATDI and yes, they were punk enough.

i'm sure this will catch a lot of shit but green days performance at woodstock opened up punk to a larger audience and there are a lot of bands out there now that owe their ass to that band and that show.

the funniest shit was when Michael Graves called into the Howard Stern show while Fat Mike was on promoting Punkvoter. Stern shut the whole Conservative punk thing down and dumped the call. It was great.
