Alkaline Trio visited the popular show The Hills where they "recorded" their new track, "In Vein."
The song appears on the band's upcoming major label debut. The record is titled Agony and Irony and is due out July 01, 2008. Sony Music Entertainment (315 comments)

This was kind of surreal. For one, the band had no interaction (or was even filmed with) any of the cast members. Second, the song was clearly a studio recording and they were pantomiming. Third, I wanted to stab those cunts for standing around bored for a minute and then leaving to go eat when they ostensibly coud have stayed and witnessed something basically anyone on this site would sell a toe for. 11+ Replies

In other AK3 news, the Zumez Couch Tour stop at Philadelphia isn't actually in Philadelphia. It is like 40 minutes away from Philly. 1+ Reply

people hate on the show a lot, but it is usually the people who have never actually seen it. and this will make the band finally become popular which is good for them. 12+ Replies

What a bunch of stupid bitches. What do they need to eat for they're only going to puke it up after 20 seconds of eating it those needle point brained retards.
Dante3000 (rich) (May 7, 2008)
So I watched it just to see all the fuss. The funniest part is that it makes it look like Alkaline Trio record like that. I'd imagine with their budget they don't need (or want) to record as the full band set. 5+ Replies

Well they've jumped the shark, but what else can you expect from a "devil worshipping" punk band that has no clue about paganism in general? It is another mass marketing scheme to try and build the band up without the needed fan base. So when they crash and burn (and they will) I think I'll continue laughing at them. 8+ Replies

I've never seen the show, but from the clip, I would assume the dialogue is always as forced as a bad porno? Is it always that bad?
ludwigg (May 7, 2008)
the hills is actually funny in the way that people take something that is such a joke so seriously. it's funny bc these people's "seriously dramatic" lives just serve as other people's entertainment. but there really is no excuse for alk3 going on the show. no positive benefit whatsoever, and i am not even talking about them alienating their "true" fans. the only reason they would go on the show is to branch out and tap into a wider fanbase. but i highly doubt rich white california bitches and douchebags are really going to grab onto a band who sing about death and drinking and blood. UM GROSS! this is basically them selling their souls to the devil, which for these card carrying satanists, is maybe their ultimate achievement?

i know for a fact that this was staged because they recorded their album in north hollywood and that studio is closer to west hollywood. besides i highly doubt they record everything live like that. if they were gonna ruin their credibility at least they could write better songs.

250 comments and so far nobody has even suggested that Alkaline Trio just might not give a shit. I think the Hill's is just as stupid as the next mother fucker does, but If I was offered cash to show up and pretend to play (I can't watch the video so I'm not sure) I'd do it just for the pisstake. They probably edited out Skiba trying to piss on one of these dumb bitches. 3+ Replies

Punk Planet #33 interview. Matt Skiba: "...Its important to work with someone who shares the same ideas, that we as a band have, as far as keeping music independent and free of commercialism. Once you get into that other realm, your not working with people who love your music, your working with people whose job it is to make money off you. Thats ridiculous. Thats got nothing to do with punk rock. Thats got nothing to do with us or our music." I really miss THAT band 1+ Reply

Why did that girl "have" to stay until they were finished? Is she integral to the recording process? Does staring, glassy eyed, through a recording booth window improve sound quality?

their o.g. fans were pissed when they signed to vagrant and now the vagrant fans are pissed that they're on the hills. next year the kids who watch the hills are gonna be mad that they couldn't get tickets to see them at the hollywood bowl. it has to end somewhere people so leave it alone. this band has been paying their dues for over 10 years and if they want to be on some shitty show at this point good for them.
