The Living End: "How Do We Know"

The Living End have posted a stream as well as a free download of their new track "How Do We Know." The song comes from their upcoming album, White Noise which is due out July 19, 2008 in Australia.

Frontman Chris Cheney commented:

[We] thought it would be cool to connect with people quicker – without all the lead up time and let people hear something immediately I know what it's like to wait around for a record to come out and it sucks! Fear not, it's almost done, and in the mean time check this out. By the way, it's not the single, it's more like an entree.

what? modern artillery is the worst album they've recorded. by far. the fact that any band would have the balls to put a song like "what would you do" on a record that actual people would hear is completely beyond me. that song alone almost made me drop them, but state of emergency was pretty good. s/t and roll on are badass, but the new stuff is good in a non-punk sort of way. just musically interesting for the most part. i'm not so sure about this song yet. its very very different for them.

I'm no expert at French, but that actually seems more logical to me than we Yanks calling main courses "entrees."

is that a new thing for the living end? Chris Cheney as an excellent guitarist and his guitar playing is the main selling point of the band. its what sets them aside from bands like green day, who have little to no guitar skills present.

I like it.
It may not be the greatest song they've ever written but the guitar work, as always, is fucking radical.
And besides, even at their worst, Living End is still better than half the music that's released these days.

i really need to just hear the whole record. i'm for sure buying it. I've always loved them, and all their records have grown and been noticably different, but its always been okay somehow. Like the growth from Insomniac to Nimrod and into Warning (greenday). sound alright. 7.5/10.

i wanna hear this album all the way through..so i will just wait for a cd release...but i have loved everything by the band so far, and live, they never let me down..so, im sure this will be great, and i hope for a canada tour maybe in the fall. here's hoping..

The guitar is pretty cool but nothing all that peticularly special, they had a lot cooler stuff in their first albums.

This sounds like that one song paralyzer by finger 11

Except that song is better

that's the first thing i thought too. i hope this song is the weird song on this album. i think its decent, but i think i'd shit your pants if the whole thing sounded like this.
