Screeching Weasel's "Boogada Boogada Boogada" to see deluxe vinyl reissue

According to a report from Ben Weasel, his former band Screeching Weasel will be seeing "some" of their back catalogue reissued on deluxe vinyl.

The first record to get the treatment is 1988's Boogada Boogada Boogada which will re-mastered with new liner notes and never-before-seen photographs. The vinyl itself is pressed on splattered grey vinyl and The entire record will be packaged in a gatefold sleeve and include a poster.

I was lucky and got this when it was still on Lookout!. I'm glad people won't have to pay an arm and a leg for it.

By "some of the catalogue" I hope he means everything before the Fat years. The self-titled and Anthem are the only ones I'm missing from the classic Weasel years. And even though I have most of the seven inches on it, how awesome would it be to have Kill the Musicians on a 2xLP?

I completely understand - I was just tweaking the collector nerds.

It's an amazing record and I would only ever part with it to pay emergency medical bills.

I have all the original releases, so even though a lot of the albums were remastered and re-released, I didn't want to buy them twice. But on vinyl, that's a good idea for the collector.

Anthem for a New Tomorrow is my personal favorite album of theirs.

Is is just me, or does it seem like older bands are starting to realize their old fans are now part of the blue collared middle class and they can start sucking more cash by playing on the pathetic cubicle culture and desires for nostalgia and reliving part of their youth through pointless reissues and paraphernalia?

haha yeah i hate that.

i love my coworkers but sometimes the conversation drives me nuts.

me: 'nice weather today'
them: 'yep, good golfing weather' (spends 20 minutes talking about golf,which i have zero interest in, other than on the wii)
at this point i get bored, whip out iphone and start reading punknews
them: 'yep, 3g iphone should be out soon, gonna get one? i'm on the fence.'
me: ...
them: 'that iphone should be good on the course when waiting on the greens'

its hilarious, all people 'at the office' can seem to talk about is golf and iphones.

but they are really nice dudes and i love hanging out with them.

I've kind of had to hide the fact that I'm a drunk degenerate punk rocker. One of my coworkers once told me how she cried during a Clapton solo. I thought it was because she was super bored. hooooo no no no. Was I way off.

my coworkers are always leavin around their jimmy buffett, barry manilow and village people albums.

and at christmas time, this one lady brings in the paralyzed war veterans singing christmas carols cd. i almost kinda wanna listen to that, see if the paralysis really makes an audible difference.

hehe jk. Every year that passes a new group becomes nostalgia to a generation. This is nothing new and will continue until people start getting nostalgic for 2000 and realize everything since then was a reissue and there's nothing left to be nostalgic about. It'll be a fun time 10 years from now.
