I really wanted to like this but...its pretty meh.

listened to a couple of songs and its alrite. i'll appreciate it more when i get the cd anyway.

The bridge in Stuff Is Messed Up when he starts spitting fast lyrics is killer.

I just took a long drive on my break at work listening to most of it on my iPod and woo hoo!

I was getting tired of the "Americana template" from the last 3 albums. I'm glad this one kinda kicks your ass with fast stuff early on and then gets all "No Substance" after that.

"Fix You" sounds like a mest up "Chasing Cars" and Coldplay margarita.

Track five's drumming reminds me of "Stop" from Against Me!, well not all of it but during the "dance fucker dance" bit.

meh, at least its better than splinter. kristy, are you doing okay? reminds me too much of a middle school dance or something like that. its way too poppy.

I just finished it. Why do all the bands that broke the whole pop punk trend in the 90's now do this? It feels weird to say this, but this record strikes me as the poor mans American Idiot. I like it alright, but the Offspring have never really blown up skirt.

I've heard worse, but it's not really good either.

There's some really awful songs on here, some decent ones too though. Doubt I'll listen again.

All things Offspring considered this is a good release in my opinion. I'll tell you what, a band i love puts out a bad release its not that i love them any less it just makes me sad. Splinter made me sad. Probably all of you too. But this is good Conspiracy (sort of) meets ixnay sounding. Smash days are over, but as they should be. The worst band is the one who puts out the same record 5 times.

Stuff is Messed Up is the surprise song on the album. I really thought this was gonna be a crappy joke song and it turns out it's really good.

This album is a copy of green day is sounds like warning and like american idiot, its a mix of both of them and its sounds like a shitty copy

I just don't care anymore. This is pretty solid as opposed to their last two or three albums, but I think I am just too old. I love SMASH and whatnot, but I am not sure that if that album came out for the first time today if I'd care. Still I was a super Offspring from 6th grade to about junior year of high school.

Having witnessed the Rise and Fall of The Offspring, it fills me with Rage that they will not just Gracefully bow out.

Their best effort in a while. The "pop" influence is a lot more prevalent on certain songs, but the traditional "offspringish" stuff is their hardest sounding stuff in a while.

yeah, just as i expected when i heard the samples. the album that i thought was gonna be the best comeback has been the opposite. the worst downfall. a lot of these songs are a major low for them, like they are trying way too hard to be mainstream. i thought the absence of a poppy rap song as the first single was gonna make things different. nope. meh i kinda wanted a fast kickass offspring cd. there are a lot of great songs, dont get me wrong, just not what i was hoping for with hammerhead. i still love them, they got me into punk kinda.

Basically, this interviewer wnated to interview bands regarding Green Days success and impact on music, and they got to interview loads of good bands, but the offspring were like 'nah fuck are we talking about THAT band'... hmmm jealousy, coz The offspring released to many lame ass singles. they suck.

i can also hear Stop, by Against Me! and Where Would We Be Now by Good Charlotte. LOL.

this is a pretty good record.

"Takes Me Nowhere" = the new "Kick Him When He's Down"

This album isn't bad, but it's bad for The Offspring. The depressing thing is that the good songs are the ones that they rip off from their own back catalog. Plus sounding like Green Day in places is not good. Best songs are Hammerhead and Trust In You. Trust In You sounds like Americana stuff which is good, pity the rest of the album doesn't sound like that. I don't get where Dexter thinks this sounds like Ixnay On The Hombre. If you take out Half-Truism, You're Gonna Go Far Kid, Kristy Are You Doing Ok, Fix You then it isn't too bad. Even though the rest of the songs are ok, it's just pretty poor for The Offspring. If the band had any dignity left they'd quickly put back the release date of the album until November and go and spend the summer grinding out another ten good songs to go with Hammerhead and Trust In You which are the only two songs that really merit the album. Ripping off Green Day, The Living End, Coldplay and even Snow Patrol (what is going on there) it's appauling. I don't see how a band that released Ixnay On The Hombre and Smash can produce this rubbish. I mean if they had ripped off Metallica it would have been better than this.

If I was going to Download this weekend I'd be hoping for Hammerhead, Trust In You, Stuff is Messed Up, all of Ixnay on the Hombre, the good songs off Smash, Americana, Conspiracy of One, Splinter. No point in mentioning the other two as they won't play anything from those.

Maybe this is good though, Less Than Jake had to release the worst album ever to finally realise that people hated them for it and they know they'll be villified if they don't deliver this time around. Listen to A Lot Like Me (clearly rips off Gone

This album is worth it simply for Half-Truism. They should have made it the last track though, Rise and Fall is kinda weak.

first 4 or five tracks aren't bad, then the album just drops off completely...i mean the last track sounds like something from the greenday vault...not enough rage in the album, maybe a little more grace would have helped...you rise somewhat but completely fall off the charts..
