Tours: The Offspring (Japan)

The Offspring will tour Japan this fall in support of their new record Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace. The group will hit Tokyo on October 6th and play two or three day residencies in a number of major cities.

The new record, the follow up to 2003's Splinter, arrived on June 17.

Listened to the new album (which I was very excited for) today.

Started off great.... then it lost me very quickly. Kind of a poor effort for 5 years.

However, I've never seen them live, and I would still go if they ever freaking come to Philly.

The second half is a lot better then people give credit for, I think its just that the first half is so goddamn amazing that it somehow distracts from the later tracks.

Dude, you're lucky! The closest I've gotten to seeing him live is watching recorded stuff on Youtube.

He should do a college tour. Then I'd get better chances of being able to go.

It's a solid album, it isn't perfect but it's mostly great stuff.

The production is a little to muddled, but the songs themselves are great. I like every one except Live Young, Die Fast. The B Side, Do you wanna know is awesome if you liked Good Mourning.

It's a little better than Crimson (which I thought wasn't THAT bad). There's just no pleasing the Goddammit crowd though.

I've given it a lot of listens. I like it... And I'm one of the 'Goddamnit' crowd.

Its better than Crimson, its got a lot of great parts. 'Live young...' Is pretty bad, the b-sides are far more fitting and better for the lp.

Not my band, they did what they wanted, I just disagree with them.

Has there ever been a movie with a more bizarrely incongruous mishmash of tones than Sandler's Longest Yard? I remember seeing it in the theater, and reading reviews, and whatever they thought of it, none I remember reading mentioned how it is an almost trippy, unsettling combination of Happy Gilmore, the Mighty Ducks, and Shawshank. Just watched it again and for the love of god, you can't have horrifically violent racist guards, you can't have Caretaker brutally murdered in a cell, and also have a goddman giant black guy named Cheeseburger throwing out cheeseburgers at hilariously inappropriate times and making McDonalds puns when he is excited.You just can't! I'm not even sure I don't like it, but you just can't!
