it is tougher to get an R rating in Canada so most of what you mention will be 14 A or 18 A here, makes me feel left out.

First R rated movie I saw in the theater was 'Total Recall'
...the three boobed lady and gratuitous use of every curse imaginable is all that I remember.

seriously, its a testament to how good mattel and kenner's marketing was to us as kids.

all of these shows... thundercats, transformers (and ew, gobots), voltron, gi joe, m.a.s.k., he-man, my little pony, etc etc etc, were created just to sell toys. even jim henson got into the game and created the cookie monster with the hopes that oreo or some other cookie brand would use him as their mascot.
