Alkaline Trio have launched the (real, official) first video from their major label debut. The record is titled Agony and Irony and is due out tomorrow, July 01, 2008.
The video is through MTV so it is US-only. Sony Music Entertainment (145 comments)

You know I was wondering how they'd make me not like that song. I never figured they'd do it by making a video incorporating "steam punk", that was inventive. Awful but inventive. 2+ Replies

I like it, it's different. So many punk band videos are the same boring performance piece.

I'm leaving for chicago on Saturday for a week. What are some good places to see a show at? I'm already seeing these guys at the house of blues, but I wanted to check out some other spots. 5+ Replies

Fun song and a neat video. Still haven't heard the stream of the new album, but I'll probably buy it regardless.

i don't get it, why all the hate for the video?? i thought it was fairly decent...

I was pretty down on Alkaline Trio for awhile, but over the last few years I began to just look at them as a band who has a pretty good sense of humor about what it's doing, kind of like The Falcon. I'm sure no one in the band thinks the graphics in this video are good, I'm sure they find it pretty hilarious. I found it hilarious. I think they're doing something that is deliberately cheesy and over the top, and that's why it works. If you watch it again and assume that they're being campy, you might like it. 5+ Replies

also, i think i speak for everyone when i say that i'd prefer seeing the heart/skull picture rather than record label logos on Alk3 org articles. 2+ Replies

i don't know why, but this totally reminds me of watching one of those Sonic The Hedgehog speed race videos. i love this band, but i've never seen them do a good video besides 'Goodbye Forever'. 1+ Reply

I was really hoping for a side note at the end.. Something along the lines of.. "Unfortunately, Kat Von D died during the making of this Commodore 64 produced video. L.A. Ink is now canceled."

You know what could cheer me up after seeing this Video? Some Dan Yemin!!!!

I like the song and the new cd but what a wierd video. The cgi looks like some of the worst i have ever seen which is not really a killer for it but its just really strange. Although having an alkaline trio air blimp would be interesting but like many people before said......Where was Will Smith at? Or at least Cartman when he was dressing up and acting like Jim West

NOT A VERY GOOD VIDEO!!! The song is AWESOME!! I was hoping to see an awesome video, not this weird video game looking version. There is some cool stuff but overall I thought it wasn't good.

I wish someone would really smash Kat Von D with a train. I had hope there for a minute. Plus the rocketeer sucked and so does this video. what's up with the Trio and their CGI video's (help me & mercy me)? what are they linkin park now? | Features
