While his bandmate from Plus-44, Mark Hoppus, keeps busy producing the new album from New Found Glory, Travis Barker continues to contribute his trademark drumming to hip hop tracks. The latest is not a remix, but an official track with popular artist, The Game.
Barker recorded "Dope Boys" for The Game's upcoming album, "L.A.X." and has posted a video of his performance online. He previously remixed songs from the likes of Rihanna, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes and others. Unlike previous studio videos, Barker has a guest in the studio who seems to be responsible for "shirtless hip hop posing." See if you can spot him. another boring-as-shit remix. damn. and by the way, whoever had the idea to use voices that sound like chipmunks in rap music should be beaten with a rubber hose. 2+ Replies

There's no doubt that Travis is an entertaining drummer. I wish he could find better outlets for his music however. 3+ Replies

I don't get the point of this. There are already drum beats (albeit computerized ones) in almost every hip-hop song. Drumming to it is neither interesting nor difficult. I mean, if you play along to a Mozart song on the piano, you're one of a million schmos on YouTube. If you play that song on a guitar (a la Yngwie Malmsteen), then you have something more interesting.

In other news, I remixed "Forgot About Dre" in the shower this morning, but I don't see that being covered. 3+ Replies

Travis is a great drummer, but this beat is boring and uninspired, and he contributes nothing to the song but another famous name.

the guy in the back is such a faggit.

Look at the way he hits his hi-hats. What the fuck?

The Game puts out great records and seems like a pretty straight up dude, but sometimes he does some cheesy things in the name of looking tough or street. 2+ Replies

mute the video and just watch the guy in the back. I'll try to figure out an entertaining song that would fit with jackass posturing. That would be way more entertaining

Good thing he got that Boost Mobile as a kid, or this wouldn't have been possible.

This isn't the first time he's collaborated with the Game. He did an AOL live performance with him and they did the song "one blood" or whatever is was called. it was when his arm was broken.
