Minus the Bear records for Daytrotter Session

Minus The Bear recorded a live set featuring four tracks in support of their recently reissued EP, They Make Beer Commercials Like This.

You can check out the four songs as streams or downloads here.

There is also a story, but it remains unconfirmed whether it is a poem, stream-of-consciousness writing or some sort of story. Caveat Reader.

you know, this is a band i enjoy. i have like four of their cds. but i almost never ever ever want to listen to them.

depends on my mood really, I find the band to be very "alone in my room" rather than something I'd throw on with friends or on the train. They can be fun but it just is a headphone kind of band to me.

I kind of feel that way too, but it's usually just the first step of putting it on. Once I put it on I get into it quickly.

I'm the same way with Lucero.

I thought I liked them at first, but they never ended up being something I spun.
Usually when I'm all bummed out, I'd rather listen to Jets To Brazil over anything.

Yeah, I listen to them mainly when I am by myself. Absolutely better through headphones, makes it more of an experience to listen to.

MTB is one of the great bands of this generation; I'll brag to my kids about them. Beer Commercials is probably one of the finest EPs I've laid ears on.

And can someone tell me where the Beer Commercials songs are. All the ones I see are acoustic versions of Planet of Ice songs. No complaints, of course.
