Face to Face recruit new drummer

The reunited California punk legends Face to Face have announced that Danny Thompson (of The Uprising) has been recruited as the band's new drummer. He will be filling in for former drummer Pete Parada during the reunion dates, due to touring commitments with The Offspring.

Until this year, Face to Face had been defunct for five years. They got back together this past January for to perform at this spring's Bamboozle, and have continued to perform multiple live venues since. Face to Face also recently announced another run of reunion dates this fall.

5 years seems really short when you don't care. Big Choice was the last thing they cranked out that got my money. I heard that 'covers' record and wanted to punch them in their fat faces.

Fugazi does not need cover versions, especially not by pop punk bands. Atom and his Package is the only exception to this rule.

Agreed. The Atom cover was awesome, especially when he said he asked for permission and they asked to open for HIM.

I can't decide which one is worse, Fallout Boy's covers of "Save Your Generation," "Start Today," or "Love Will Tear Us Apart." I fully expect the next one to be a medly of "Riding With Mary" and "Back to the Motor League" and the resultant video will feature Kanye West and be openly sponsored by Pepsi.

meh. i was travelling one summer, and saw him like 6 times in two states. including seeing him after his show at gilman st, which we got there too late to see him play.

he did stay at house, too.

Well, when you can't play half your shows or the promoters rip you the fuck off, then yeah, they probably lost a ton. Hopefully some of the Fuse money helped em recoup.

I would LOVE to try Green Dragon, though.

i saw them play in denver after the show aired--can't remember if it was the entire season or not--and it was surreal seeing their road crew selling shirts, and loading equipment. i mean, the band itself onstage is one thing, but the roadies, and the drunk manager...it was strange. like they were celebrities, and i felt like i could just go up and talk to them about shit that happened in malaysia or something, but then realized they prolly get that everywhere, and they're just working...

but yeah, the marshmallow semi trip was pretty funny.

Speaking of stupid video games. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is fucking amazing and unbelievably time consuming. I don't think I've enjoyed a game that much since Mercenaries.

Morrowind brings the fun more in my opinion. I know I've said this on here before, but Oblivion's difficulty level was a joke.

Yeah, I've heard that, never played Morrowind, but read up enough about it. Difficulty aside, it's a damn fun game and surprised the shit out of me. THe whole vampire poisoning thing was well done.

Why is everyone bagging on these guys? "Don't turn away" is one of the best punk albums of the 90's.

I like the band but calling them "legends" is going way too far. They were a decent band with a couple of good albums but they should probably not bother with new material. Their last two albums had some good tracks but too many mediocre songs. I listen to "Don't Turn Away" and the live album these days.

Despite the overwhelming pessimism, I'm willing to give them a chance with the new drummer. I hate Offspring, so I'll probably skip this tour but I'll definitely check out whatever they record.

Wait, that was way too positive for a punknews post... what I meant was;
